  1. Hi , this is my first armour model , i normally build aircraft models. This kit was painted with Tamiya acrylics and lightly weathered with oil paint and drybrushing . Sorry about the tracks the paint has started to flake off the vinyl , will not use them in future. Hope you like it .
  2. Thank you for your replies , glad im not the only one who has trouble . The tracks your Cromwell have turned out well.
  3. Just wondering if anyone could help with how to build seperate tank tracks so they can be removed from the wheels for airbrushing ? I have not built a tank before only aircraft , am currently building a Trumpeter ASU-85 in 1/35 . The tracks for this kit are seperate plastic links and am a bit stuck with what to do with them . Many thanks .
  4. Here are my three builds for 2012 Academy 1/48 Tomahawk iib Airfix 1/48 Spitfire XII Hasegawa 1/48 Hurricane Mk 1 Hope you like them !
  5. Hi everyone thanks for all the kind comments, found the build mostly good a bit fiddly having to sand bits off on the wing and nose. The wings fitted ok except for the break in the corrugated detail. Did think of masking of the low points with thin tape and filling to restore the detail but in the end just filled the join and sanded it all smooth.
  6. Hi everyone , here is my recently finished Hurricane . Built from the box with kit decals which were not that good . I used Eduard masks for the canopy though. The aircraft is of 32 Squadron. Painted with Tamiya acrylics , except for the prop which was Revell aqua Tar black . The final finish is Alclad matt klear . All comments welcome , hope you like it !
  7. Thanks for the advice , will be more carefull with maskol in future !
  8. Hi all, Had a bit of problem with these two , painted model with Tamiya acrylic then overcoated with Aqua gloss. Then masked with white tack and maskol , but when I removed the maskol it had eaten through to the primer in places, thought i would post to say in case someone else has this problem .
  9. Tamiya and Gunze acrylics are very similar, you could use both no need to switch , they can both be thinned with Tamiya acrylic thinner.
  10. Thanks for everyones comments, I agree about the panel lines; the pictures do appear darker than in reality - still experimenting too. Not sure about the tail wheel; seemed to only want to go in the one way but I could be wrong. Sprue/Mike - next build is a Hasegawa Zero in the same scale. Many thanks again, James
  11. Excellent fulmar , the weathering on the panel lines is very well done .
  12. Hi everyone this is my recently finished Spitfire Mk XII , the first spit i have finished since starting modelling again . The kit was primed with Alclad grey primer , painted with Tamiya acrylics and matt coated with Vallejo matt varnish. All commemts welcome. Hope you like it !
  13. Nice model , really like the heavy weathering .
  14. You could try putting your compressor on top of a piece of matting , or a piece of carpet , this may help cut down on the noise.
  15. Lovely build ,nice weathering and mottling .
  16. Hi , this is the Airfix kit built from the box with Aeromaster decals and airbrushed with Gunze acrylics . Primed with Vallejo white primer , matt coated with Vallejo matt varnish. The chipping on the propellor was an experiment , think its overdone though . Not sure about the mottling on the fuselage too. Hope you will like it , all comments welcome.
