    I'm an avid flightsimmer (mostly A320Neo), so have a lot of experience flying ILS / VOR approaches. However, they're not something that I've really considered from a military perspective.

     

    Future project is the Airfix 1/72 A-4Q in 1982 Falklands markings. Looks like a piece of curved 0.2mm fuse wire should do the job nicely !

    Modern mlitary aircraft have ILS, VOR/DME and TACAN radio navigation aids. Civil aircraft cane also use the DME part of a TACAN.

     

    The Argentine Skyhawks were fitted with VOR aerials. As far as I'm aware they didn't have a glideslope aerial, therefore had no ILS capability.

    Honestly, it depends what you want.

     

    From what I've read so far, it sounds like it builds very well.

     

    Personally, I can't get over the thick wing tips and bulged leading edge, it looks like a kids toy.

     

    For that amount of money, I'd expect it to look correct. 

     

    All that being said, I spent a lot of money on the Classic Airframes Sea Venom which was a challenging build and slighlty mixed parts for different variants. Ultimately, I really enjoyed that build and it looks very much like a Sea Venom.

     

    Noone is going to mistake the PR kit for anything other than a Vampire T11, but it's bit chunky and fat in places.

Now they have turned into a sort of resale brand of their own moulds. Their kits, once the best available, are one by one, falling behind better renderings from more competitive and active companies.     I'm probably showing my age (or lack thereof), but Hasegawa to me have always been the company that has some decent kits, albeit a bit basic.

     

    I suspect they got so far behind the curve with their military aircraft kits that they can no longer catch up.

     

    I've built their 48th Phantom and Typhoon, with a couple of Skyhawks and a Harrier in the stash - they are still decent kits :)
