  1. Blimey, that Mars Alpha Pattern Warlord Titan - I wonder how many they have sold? And i thought the fincast Smaug GW made was expensive at £250..... If only for that lottery win eh. Well i've decided to start collecting an army, after painting a few Sigmar figures this weekend i can see myself really enjoying the painting aspect, and then of course i can play them against my lad with his army. My mojo for aircraft and tanks has fizzled out and this might be the distraction i need. (plus i used to collect/play when i was a lot younger so it's a nice bit of nostalgia for me). I've just won one of these on ebay for a very small sum - And i'm going to pick up one of these next week - Should keep me going for a while...... Mind if i pick your brains regarding paints? I.e Layers, base, glazes, etc etc..? Nick
  2. Wow, those are very very good! I'm helping my lad paint his Sigmar set at the mo, but i reckon i'm going to build up a small-ish army of my own, some of the GW stuff is very cool. Thanks for sharing, i'll be sure to keep an eye out if you post anymore. Nick
  3. Righto..... Masterclub resin tracks.... This is the box This is what you get in the box - There are 2 types of pin, and you have to be careful to put them the right way round. I only found out by googling and finding a very helpful review. The pins are also very small and i hope they put some spare in the box because they are perfectly formed to ping across the room.... And this is a few links put together - The parts are very well cast and detailed, my problem is you have to drill out the holes for the pins, but that makes some of them a touch too big and you end up loosing pins. Hopefully i can get on top of this problem, it would be a shame for it all to fall apart! Oh, and it takes ages. And ages. And ages.. I've spent an hour tonight and i've got 16 links together. 110 or so links per side, and this could take a while!!!! I must be mad :lol Thanks for looking, Nick
  4. Very nice work, you can't beat a good Spitfire build! I'll be very interested when you start the Brassin engine, i have one in the stash and some of the parts are tiny - I think it will look stunning but i'm unsure if my skill level is there yet.... The Brassin cockpit looks excellent, as does the radio - Well, all of it does really! Nick
  5. Wow, that's incredible.... Has to be the best i have seen. It's an expensive model but well worth if you can paint like that. I was in my local GW store last week (my lad was painting some of his Age of Sigmar set) and i was looking at the one they had on display - It's actually quite a large model isn't it. I've been eyeing up the Glottkin from the end times range, looks superb but not sure if i can stump up £66 for one figure, my painting skills aren't quite up to it yet.. Thanks for sharing, have you shown any other figure on here? Nick
  6. Thanks chaps for the interest and encouragement, this is only my third armour build (and first Dragon kit!) so i'm very much finding my way as i go along. Parabat, the kit DS tracks actually look ok, better than most vinyl tracks as far as i can tell. But for this one i fancied some aftermarket, Fruils where my first port of call but they are expensive - For less than half the price (£12 at Telford) i picked up the resin Masterclub tracks. I've so far put together 3 links, other than drilling the holes out slightly they go together well. I'm hoping to crack on with this again within the next couple of days so i'll update the thread as and when. Thanks for looking, Nick
  7. Looks great to me Steve! Nick
  8. Lovely builds Steve, they look spot on - Glad you got some mojo back, mine are still on the shelf of doom! Looking forward to what you get up to next, Nick
  9. I wasn't going to do a wip of this build as i'm usually useless at updating them, but i've got this far with it so i thought better late than never. Everything i've heard about this kit is true - The instructions are chaotic, some of the assembly work is very very fiddly and i'm still not sure if i've chosen the right options for the version i'm building lol. But it's been a pleasure to build so far, the fit is fantastic and the details sublime. I've still got to add various tools/fixings and ropes but i'm going to do that when it's painted. So here is where i'm at (after about 7 hours work - i work slow!) Next job is to build the tracks. I didn't fancy using the DS ones included so i picked up some Masterclub resin tracks - Will be my first time using tracks like these, will take me a while i think... I'll update the thread when i next sit at the modelling bench, thanks for reading! Nick
  10. Stunner Steve! Merry Christmas to you too, and a happy new year. Nick
  11. Looks great Steve! I've lost heart with my set to be honest, mojo has gone walkabout... I expect it will return though.. Nick
  12. Eduard Mig21? I'm halfway through one (an MF) and it's superb. Nick
  13. Very nice, lovely finish and subtle but effective weathering. The tracks look great too! Nick
  14. Looks good to me! These saw some pretty hard use so i think the weathering is spot on. Looks a really nice kit, i might have to add one to the stash. Thanks for sharing, Nick
  15. Very nice Steve, lovely builds there, especially the mottling.
  16. I've ordered all the Eduard etch for this which will be with me in the next few days. The Royal model set looks ace but i can only find one for sale on Ebay and it will run to over £50 with postage, not including customs fees.. A bit too rich for me. Still haven't decided what it will be hauling yet, but i'm hoping to make a start on it shortly after Christmas when i have a bit more time.. Nick
  17. Just seen a Revell 1/32 AR196 go for £50 on ebay! Are these now super rare!??

The original A-3 kits are becoming harder to find, yes. I had a look for one the other day and couldn't find one, only the recent issue.

ah thanks, that would explain it then

  18. Excellent work! I'm going to make a start on one of these very soon so i'll be following your build closely - It looks to be a very good kit, its certainly a boxfull.... Nick
  19. That's lovely - Well worth the effort, it's one of the best i have seen. Nick

    1/35 Tiger I

I would say it's worth looking, i haven't built mine yet but i've read lots of favourable build reports. The box is very full and the detail look's fantastic. Mine is the mid production with Zimmerite, it's got some etch in the box but no metal barrel. The only aftermarket i've got for it is a set of resin Masterclub tracks, other than that it will be an out of the box build. Nick
