The original A-3 kits are becoming harder to find, yes. I had a look for one the other day and couldn't find one, only the recent issue.

Also sprays very well. I use a few Citadels as near matches. Otherwise a thirty mile round trip or tinterweb for 'accurate' paints

've a good collection of citadel paints, the black primer is very good. I do suffer with it clogging in the airbrush though? Ho w do you manage it?

    4. Darby

      Darby

I've never used a Citadel primer but stay away from 'base' paints in the airbrush. They can clog easily however the 'layer' paints are fine

  6. If i spent as much time building my own kits as i spend on reading about everyone else's build's i would have no stash left... :/

I can sympathise. After doing the TFCC in my right wrist a proper mischief a while ago, it's going to be at least a month before I'm dextrous again and can finish off my Lightning F3 conversion languishing on the workbench.

All the best for a quick recovery.

Cheers Steve. Torn ligament, so i'm looking at ages before its healed. Hope you recover soon!

  8. Mojo gone.. Lost all motivation. How long for this time i wonder?

Try a different theme to what you are used to. It often works for me.

Try alcohol. May not start the mojo, but you won't care.

Its back! Cheers chaps, fine whiskey and painting Games Workshop figures fetched me back from the brink.

  9. Nearly finished my Tamiya 1/32 Zero... Quite a few poor fit issues though, it's certainly not as well engineered as the later stuff..

I'm surprised and sorry to hear you had some fit issues. I built their A6M5 about 3 years ago and cannot recall using any filler at all. Hope it turns out fine in the end. Gary

  10. just started Airfix's new fw190-a8. Not a very good fit!

You can get Hasegawa 190's for a tenner or less 2nd hand, so I'd still get the Hasegawa kit... in fact I have.... many times!

Most of my Hasegawa Fw190's have cost me a tenner or less too!

  11. Thoroughly humbled by my trip to the d day landing beaches and cemetries, my breath was quite literally taken away at the american cemetery

Yes, it puts a different perspective on everything. The American cemetery at Maddingley near Cambridge does the same thing to me.

Hi Chaps, I was lucky enough to visit Arromanches-les-Bains last year, on the 69th anniversary of the D Day landings. The campsite is with a few hundred yards of the town centre and was a perfect place to stay. Whilst there I tried to book again for this year but they were already fully booked then! I made the trip from Lancashire on my little Yamaha trail bike and hod a fabulous holiday. I was on the beach, in a 1943 Jeep, on the anniversary day and the the sense of history was immense.<...

  12. Finally my mythical bottle of Tamiya extra thin cement arrived today..
