Nice! Thanks for sharing. -
Really enjoying watching your build progress. Look forward to seeing the model complete, I'm sure it will be as breathtaking as any of you previous builds.

Wow! Love this. You really are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing.

Nicley done! Your final wash has brought out the panel lines beautifully and really shows off the detail of this new kit. Thanks for sharing.

Wow!!! I'm going to follow this with great interest. Remember seeing one of these at Leuchars with the engine covers open and thought it looked great. What you are doing here is truly inspirational, I wish I could manage my time better and donate more of it to model making. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing.

Very nice! I do have a thing for the M113 and I must admit I always wondered what i could do with my fitter version. Might be a plan! Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing a fantastic model.

Hi All. Sorry for not putting up any new posts on this one but since the kids came off school I have started another WIP in the aircraft section. My wee lad and I are building a freeflight balsa Spitfire, so until thats finished or it gets too cold to work in the shed this ones on hold. Thanks for looking and I will get back to this one at some point , having a WIP is keeping me inspired where as before I'd probably have put it all back in the box and back to the stash. Cheers.

Hi All. I have finally managed to finish the fuselage of this model, at last!!! I really don't know where the time goes, so much for having this done in a weekend but it's taken a month. What should I expect with a wife with a broken leg a 7 year old son to entertain and his bedroom to decorate a Labrador to walk and any other chores to do, Ah bliss! Turned out there wasn't much to do Just the nose to shape, leading edge wing root and the trailing edge wing root I thought these were going to be more complex than they actually turned out to be. I've also started on the tail and it just needs to set and then some final shaping and It'll be ready to be cemented to the fuselage. Sorry no photos of this yet I'll try and get them taken in the next night or two. Thanks to all who have taken the time to read this WIP I hope when I get it finished it isn't a disapointment. Cheers.

Hi All. It's been a while but what with work and other commitments it's been difficult to get on but a little and often has seen me get this far. The front end of fuselage has now been completed as below. All the panels had to be cut indiviually and shaped and then finally sanded. So thats it for now hopefully get the tailend and the nose of the fuselage finished off this weekend so hopefully another update early next week. All the best and thanks for looking.

Hi Paul. Thanks for the advice, this has been our first crack at this sort of thing and a few mistakes have been made already so will keep it in mind. Cheers.

Thanks for the reply, but not only do I have the pressure of a 7 year old but the modelling community also. Don't be expect too much though it's taken 2 weeks to get to this stage. Cheers.

Hi all. I know this is't a scale model as such but wanted to share the build with you and hope you find it interesting. The plans were scaned from Model Airplane News August, 1940, which I found on the internet many years ago and did nothing with until now and with the school holidays here my wee lad asked if there was a plane we could build together, so here we are. Some parts of this Spitfire aren't to scale but that's so it can fly, just a bit of fun really. We are hoping to finish her as K5054 in Supermarine Blue. Most of the fuselage has been constructed and only the engine cowling area to be filled in with balsa sheet and sanded, All the bulkheads and stringers where made from 1/16 inch balsa. More soon, thanks for looking.

Cheers Chris. Good to hear from you. Keep looking in for more updates, although not much doing as we're away in the van. Isn't time you started a wip???

Hi All. Back again, I have made some changes to the hull on the right hand side the front armour is not welded and over laps the hull side. I used a sliver of Plastikard to fill this then sanded it back. I then rescribed the panel line in this area, it looks a wee bit heavy in the photo but looks ok, just have to wait until there's some paint on it! I have also filled the Joint behind the drivers hatch and will add a weld bead from streached sprue. Last of all for today the sink marks on the suspension arms and the tracklinks filled with liquid green stuff. Thats all for today, slow but steady progress and hopefully doing this wip will inspire me to complete a model something I haven't done for a while. Cheers.

Hi. your right about I'm lucky that it's slab sided made it easy to sand. I used one of those four sided nail polishers to sand and polish but righr enough it sands back really easily so had to put on two coats. Glad to hear that it paints over easily too. Thanks for your comment. Hi. The sink marks I have sanded wern't that deep but I was afraid they would spoil the fit of the side floation tanks. Cheers.
