  1. To continue the theme... here is a moustachioed, three-eyed, hairy, groper: Not for Goblin aid but Pulp sci-fi.
  2. Very nicely done The subtle weathering is superb. If you painted the digital camo by hand you have done an amazing job. I'm impressed at all of the sharp corners. I know that there are mask kits available for digi-cam that would make life a lot easier. Excellent build and it is a real shame that the kit misbehaved for you.
  3. I am really impressed at how effective this looks. It almost has a retro look about it that would suit the original series... very nicely done I think it would look even better wit a bit of ink washing to bring out some of the details more.
  4. Part of Goblin Aid is to get it cast up so there should be painted ones in a couple of months
  5. I have sculpted a Goblin for Goblin Aid. To find out more, here is a Face-Book link: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Goblinaid/582169528462833 Here is what I came up with: You can find out more about the sculpt here: http://insosworld.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/a-green-sunday.html Have a great Easter
  6. Here are the two converted traders:
  7. Cheers I have converted a couple of traders now so once they are primed I'll get painting them too. I may end up adding an APC to the group as well.
  8. I thought I'd paint up some infantry support too. I have been told the green doesn't suit so the next one will have a desert sand colour instead (I plan on ten soldiers and a couple of traders):
  9. Someone mentioned that my Urban camouflage looked a bit like an artist's work so I looked him up and thought... that would make a great dazzle pattern...
  10. I'm not a fan of the Danish colours... the yellow areas just look like primer to me.
  11. ...and the answer is 2 quad bikes, 2 trailers and the 8 troops/crew. A nice man from Airfix told me
  12. It doesn't say how many Quad bikes/trailers you get in the kit (it mentions 8 figures but doesn't specify what)... does anyone happen to have any 'insider' information on the subject? Hopefully it will be four Quads with trailers...
  13. To answer some questions: I don't game so don't have a rule-set in mind. The army was just put together in a fluid way and has ended up where it is now following no particular design... I just added what I liked. The miniatures (troops) are for 28mm but they are space Dwarfs (22mm tall) called 'Grymn' from here: http://www.hfminis.co.uk/shop?category=miniatures I have converted all of the troops to have heads from here: http://www.pig-iron-productions.com/ Since my last post, I have had to replace my computer and I have had to re-find all of my favourites (hence the delay in replying) but on a plus point, I have finished the special unit I was working on: I have also finished the first of three 'Clanker' units (the Grymn in the top pic is to show the size of the walkers): And have made good progress on the second unit: If anyone is really keen to know where everything came from, I'll post a list... but it may take a while to put together
  14. Thank you The greys were originally from here: http://www.tengumodels.co.uk/ ... and since I bought them, there have been a couple added to the store. The walkers were snapped up on E-bay and are the old style Eldar Dreadnoughts/Wraithlords from Games Workshop. The hover platforms are the old Eldar gun-platforms.
  15. Cheers I am in the process of painting another walker (different to the rest) so when he's finished, I'll post him up.
  16. It is all down to patience and reworking areas. You sculpt the details as crisp as you can, then go back 20 minutes later and sharpen up the edges... do the same again and you'll end up with sharp, defined sculpted details. Also, having a rigid skeleton or base structure, really helps. As does working in layers.
  17. I've just finished the latest addition; a mystic who started out like this (the green bits are sculpted): ... and finished up like this:
  18. Some 1/35th scale Votoms mechs that have been re-purposed as giant mechs for a smaller scale army: These APCs are to go with the mechs and the troops that support them: An example of a Mech support unit: Some troops:
  19. I won't be getting the GZG minis because they are a little too 'cartoon' for my liking, however, I do have another 40 of the same type planned to go with a further 8 walkers. I also plan to add two injured aliens (they have lost their psychic powers so can't protect themselves) in powered armour and riding fighting platforms. There will also be a few Reaper miniatures aliens added as a slave race... so there will be a small amount of variety These ones (plus a few more): http://miniature-heroes.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=487_501&products_id=24192
  20. I bought some old Games Workshop Dreadnoughts to go with a bunch of these: But the little aliens didn't seem properly dressed... so I added some putty, put a few extra bits and bobs together and came up with this: This is the first of three similar waves that will be led by this guy: I still have a long way to go but it is a start
  21. I reckon you are spot on there... especially with the Lynx and ground vehicles too.
  22. The fuselage is only a small part of the problem. The interior details are completely different as well (the avionic station and the Sonar buoy dispenser in the rear)... as is the MRH (due to folding blades), the undercarriage (single main wheels rather than double), different passenger door (vertical folding rather than sliding), It would mean a re-tool of both opaque sprues plus the clear sprue (different window layout - the door). It could use some of the existing individual components but the whole kit would need a re-tool. Sad but it would need to be a new kit... not easy and as people have said, if enough people buy the RAF version, maybe sales will provide the encouragement for a second, Navy version.
  23. Cheers I completely missed that
  24. When is the kit due for release? It seems like an absolute age since it was first touted for a release
