  1. for me, the su-33 is the best 1/32 I could think off. Just after the 1/32 Fw190D from Tamiya I understand that some preffer more common variant of the Flanker family, but then again we already have big Su-27
  2. OMG simply stunning. Can't wait it to be released. Will buy one asap
  3. Hi, here are some progress pictures. I've added the wires (streched sprue). Instrument panel is from the kit. I' ve received the eduard brassin engines - that has to be the best set I've seen, and I've seen a lot. Cheers!!
  4. I wasn't quite satisfide with the result, so I've tried to impove it, It seems better, at least to me. Now I will have to wait for 7 days to dry, and than I can paint the other side. After everything is dry, I'll put matt coat tinted with gunze sail + white overall to even it a bit. Thanks for watching! Bye!
  5. Greetings from Croatia! Thanks, I'll copy/paste from another forum: Hi, I've used revell gloss black as base. Than Alclad aluminum. I did wash with tamiya brown wash and Mig deep brown wash (overall). I've used on some areas Mig Standard rust effect. Than I've put light coat of AK Dust effect, when the surface was still wet I've tapped with the small sponge and let it dry. Well, that is some general order, but there is no rule, a lot of experiment. So, in short: I put brownish wash/dust wash (depends on the effect you want) overall. Once it is semi-dry, I tap with a small sponge. So keyword: SPONGE You can repeat procedure until you are satisfied.
  6. Thanks all! Nigel, well there is no philospohy. Base is gunze H313. So you need acrilyc. Once it is dry, put overall oil colour. I've used Rembrandt in tube, No. 265. I suggest you use these colours, because they are suitable for those effects. Just use wider brush and make tiny moves up and down while slowly pulling back the brush. You can repeat that until you get satisfactory result. Final touches with revell enamel color - I've used no. 82 revell. Just draw lines with tiny rbush and than blend a bit with oil thinner.
  7. Thanks all! Here are few more pic, mostly of wood painting. Still need to put overcoat with airbrush to even it all. Than weathering, it is too clean. Don't like celan stuff...
  8. Hello again, here are few pic of the finished engine (still few bits to do), I will now proceed with internal construction... Regards!
  9. Hello, here are few progress pictures of the engines. I plan to make it wooden, in some imagionary situation Thanks for watching ! Regards, Marko
  10. Hello, here are some new progres photos. I did the slimmer rail and other details that should be on Su-33. Still need to add few details and then wireing. Thanks for watching, regards
  11. Thanks all. Here are some pictures of the "modified" part of the aires. It would be best that I've left the Kinetic part, but that wasn't the option because It didn't fit the instrument panel - both the shape and the position, I had to move the cover back a bit. So I've decided to use the aires part, for which I was afterwards told it's not correct for Su-33, only for Su-27. Still need to add details. Cheers!
  12. Few update pictures. Now to the seat rails and other details. Also, front cover will be changed since one from the Aires set is for Su-27 which is also a different part.
  13. Hi there, Ive noticed that the rear part of the Kinetic kit is a bit wrong. The Su-33 has different area behind the seat, mostly due to the different ejections system that in Su-27. That said, the bulge (in the red circle) is further away from the seat than in Su-27, and it has different shape. The Kinetic did quite OK with the distance form the seat, but the shape is of the Su-27, not Su-33. One more thing - Su-33 does not have those circles like Su-27 does. The whole part is different. I made a mistake because I was starting from the wrong presuption - that Su-27 and Su-33 are the same in this area, but they aren't. So everything I did in this areas is correct - for Su-27 :wacko:/>/> So, I've decided to change it, mostly because I've spent a lot of time on cockpit itself so I can't just overlook those new conclusions. Here are the pictures:
  14. Tnx Hetzer, Everything is painted with acrylic colors - base are Gunze. Those tiny buttons and etc are painted with Valleyo acrylic - the only colors that I have and tried so far, that is capable for such tiny details - and those are really tiny, pictures can't show it in fact how tiny these are Wash is oil based wash - tamiya ones (black and brown) Regards!
  15. Tnx all! Gary , I used Gunze RLM 65 as base + bit of light blue. RLM 65 is perfect as a base for this subject IMO. Hi RMP2, since I started this topic yesterday it is to soon (at least for me) to update it. :-D But I hope that update will come soon - next are wheel bay! Cheers!
  16. Hello there, here are some progress pictures of the Kinetic Su-33 kit. I've tried to fit the Aires cockpit inside, because I wasn't satisifed with the instrument panel, with its position to be exact - it is far to deep inside the pit. It's not something that bothered me that much - but since I had aires cockpit I decided to use it. But oh man, a far far more work was required than I anticipated. But when I made the cut - there was no turning back. Would I do it again? Hell NO, loud and clear. Here are picutures and tnx for watching! Cheers!
  17. Thank all, I'm glad you like it Hi Rob, sorry, no build thread. But it went together quite good, no major issues
  18. Hi, I was familiar with some of the weathering tehniques, but I wanted to try out some new things that sounded good to me in theory. When I saw Takoms whippet I thought that now might be the time to try them out, since this is the subject that is hard ot overweather
  19. Hi, I've bought this model only for practising various tehniques since this is a subject that you can weather a lot, and I did learn a lot. I did not bother very much with the realism, although I did take a look on some reference pictures regarding the stains and oil leaks etc.... Still to add some parts once I decide wheather to us some accesorries or not. I bought the base, not my work there. It is very nice. you can find it here: http://www.dioramania.com/ He also has an ebay store. hope you like it, regards
  20. Thank you Harrison. Here are few progress pic on the wheel bay. Still a lot of work to do, this is base work for wireing. I hope I'll have some new pictures soon, knowing myself If I stop now I won't be coming back to it Cheers and thanks for watching. Marko
