  1. After 4 months of repairing my collection following my move I finally opened a new box. I read an article some time ago that featured the Phantom FGR2 in grey/green camouflage using Humbrol paints. I cannot find the article so I would greatly appreciate if someone would provide me with guidance on the subject. Lou
  2. I just opened the 1/48 Monogram Phantom II Mig Killer and find that the under radome probe belongs to either a C or N version. Has anyone else come across this. A previous F-4J black Bunny did not have this issue. Lou
  3. Thank you. It was started as a tutorial on making bubble canopies on the solid model memories. Lou
  4. A scratch built fictitious P-51 simulator. The fuselage section and canopy are carved solid wood. The stand is window screen mesh and the framework is wooden dowels and Evergreen plastic strips. The steps are paper. The power control cart and fire extinguisher are also wood.Cockpit details are card stock panel and seat belts are masking tap. The figures are from my spares box. Details on the build can be found at http://smm.solidmodelmemories.net/SMF/index.php?topic=1542.0
  5. I am making a solid hull model of the Bruno Stillman 55 crab fishing boat as a gift for my nephew who is owner/captain of the Paula-Nicole. I require a top view/drawing to determine the shape of the hull. I have decent photos of the side view and several close up shots out of the water.
  6. I am looking for drawings to a Bruno Stillman 55 fishing boat.
  7. The construction details are posted at http://smm.solidmodelmemories.net/SMF/index.php?topic=165.0 Lou
  8. Those behind me in the center panel are 1/48 plastic. My collection is getting fairly large with 260 plastic kit built, 250 kits in my stash. I currently have 170 solid wood models done from scratch and the lumber yard has more than enough wood to last me a life time. The advantage with wood is that the only restriction is where to put them all after they are done. However this will be my last big airplane model. I currently have a 1/144 scale HMCS Bonaventure on the bench, but from here on smaller models will be the norm for me.
  9. http://Thank you for the kind word. Here are some progress shots.
  10. The 1/48 scale Argus project began 8 June 2008 and was completed 21 April 2017. Special thanks to Bill Burn from CanMilAir for those wonderful decals and Burt Campbell's book The Untold Story of Canada's Cold War Maritime Hunter. Construction is clear pine boards laminated for proper thickness and shaped hand tools. Paint was shaded at my local hardware store using colour chip found on line. Decals are CanMilAir supplemented by others printed on my HP printer. A most satisfying project. (Note user icon 1/32 version)
