  1. In a fit of nostalgia, I bought the AMT Deora pick-up. I built one many years ago. A bit more expensive than last time, but it comes with a 12 page photo leaflet, pre-painted tyre lettering and each sprue indivdually wrapped. You even get a choice of smoked or clear "glass" which I don't think was in my original one.
  2. Their new Mercedes 300SL gullwing is a rather nice recent release. They also do an old Toyota, but I think that lacks engine detail.
  3. For a very basic kit to practice on, one of the recent 1/32 Airfix kits, such as the BMW Mini might be a good starting point.
  4. I would rather like the Revell BMW i8. Waiting for a good price (I think I am still living in the days when Revell kits were under £20!). A friend has the real thing and took me for a ride in it. Seriously impressed (which it ought to be at that price)! Even the 3 cylinder engine (enhanced sound?) sounds sufficiently sporty. I have over 30 images (too large for here unfortunately and my PC is too old to sensibly use) for reference. It is black, but has gunmetal rather than blue highlights.
  5. Recent purchases... Revell 1/12 Shelby GT500, as it was half price... Tamiya 1/24 Subaru BRZ Tamiya 1/24 Mercedes 300SL ICM 1/24 Opel Admiral
  6. Last few purchases... Fujimi Mini Cooper S Countryman All4 (from Wonderland on sale. looks to be ex-Modelzone) Belkits Fiesta S2000 (someone was selling them relatively cheap on Amazon) Meng Ford F-350 Italeri Iveco Stralis "Yellow Devil" All 1/24.
  7. I am leaning towards contacting them again (replying to their email) as the "dimple" is pretty noticeable. If they have to send out a lot of multiple repacements they may decide to look into the Quality Control in India.
  8. I had the August 6th email for my second replacement, so things are improving with the distortion. I wonder if they will ever manage to produce a perfect canopy...
  9. My second replacement was a lot better than the first. Still not perfect though.
  10. I received a second replacement canopy today. Still not perfect, but a lot better than the first one. I think I'll quit while I'm ahead!
  11. Received my replacement. Distortion is about on a par with the original cracked one. I would be interested to know if anyone had a "perfect" one.
  12. I had a response asking for my address, so hopeful of an imminent replacement.
  13. Got mine from Hattons today. Late ordering so £82 including postage. All sprues present and correct. The Canopy had the (seemingly) inevitable crack where it joins the sprue. Off to the Airfix Web site I suppose! I am guessing a while to get a replacement if this is such a widespread problem.
  14. I would have said it didn't have the right wing shape for an X-47. Maybe it is a manned development of the X-48, which would explain the larger size.
