  1. Hi guys, For the distinctive copper pipes seen in Spitfire (I'd doing the Tamiya Mk IXc early), Tamiya specifies to paint them XF-71 green. I often see these unpainted in photos of warbirds and builds online. Does anyone know (Edgar?) whether these were actually painted on a wartime Mk IXc? Say Johnny Johnson's JE J? Thanks guys VW
  2. Hi guys I have an Iwata HP-CS and H&S Infinity and got the Quick Connect for them. I use a braided 1/8" Iwata hose. When I screw the hose cap onto the Quick Connect, it screws only about halfway up the thread of the Quick Connect and the hose's screw "cap" can still wiggle relative the the hose. In other words, the little rubber O-ring in the hose cap is not making contact with the Quick Connect. This results in lots of air leaking out where the hose's braids meet the hose's metal cap. I can't tighten the hose cap any further but haven't tried a wrench yet. The hose is air tight when simply screwed onto the airbrushes themselves. What can possibly be the problem? Has anybody seen this? Thanks! VW
  3. Never mind guys - I got sorted out thanks.
  4. Hello everyone, I accidentally destroyed one of the Red "32" decals of my Eduard 1/72 MiG-15bis Cuban version. Would anybody have a spare for me? I will pay the postage via Paypal. Thanks in advance!
  5. Paul, I used XF-22 and XF-61 and XF-23 (this one mixed with XF-2). All were lightened for scale effect and finally misted a heavily thinned mix of Buff and Sky Grey to tone down the colours.
  6. I started this one around January, and got frustrated with some issues, many of which I caused (glue spill among them!). Anyway, after building the Tamiya 1/32 P-51, I got back to this one and sat down with it for some more weeks. Overall happy with the result. I tried to convey a scale effect. Paints used: Tamiya acrylics.
  7. What a stunning build. Makes me want to build the one in my stash. What paints did you use? Any aftermarket?
  8. Hi guys, This is the first model that I display here, and my 6th since getting back to the hobby in 2011. I used Tamiya acrylics, Future (Klear) and ModelMaster Acryl Flat Coat. It's mostly straight out of the box except the seat which is an Ultracast seat and the exhausts which are also aftermarket. The only major issues were the decals that are awful. Thanks for looking! Vivian (I'm a guy by the way)
  9. Eduard 1:48 MiG-21 bis Polish version Citadel metallic paints thinned with Tamiya X-20A thinner. Been working on this one for a long time. It's a lot of work - especially all those stencils of which many are still left to be done. Build-wise, 99% of it went together like a dream. Impeccable fit and no filler needed.
  10. Should one use the blue and red stencils if it indicates "use blue"? It looks like the red is common to all while one needs to choose between the blue and black. Is that right?
  11. Hi everyone, I am doing the Polish Navy option of the MiG-21 bis (Eduard 1:48 kit) and it says to "use blue stencils". Should it also get the red stencils? It looks like the red stencils are common to all. So, in my case, I need to do the blue AND red ones - correct? Thanks!
