    Spray cans

Halfords primers are fine for small stuff. Have used them to undercoat 6mm Wargames figures with no issues.
  2. Nothing to do with the model, but I kind of think somebody in the Chinese MoD won the buzzword bingo box of chocolates when they came up with a name including Army, Naval & Air Force!!!
  3. The BBMF Lancaster doing a couple of circuits down towards the eastern edge of Sleaford, possibly Ruskington, yesterday. Probably within 1/2 mile at nearest point. Last weekend came over my house a couple of times last weekend. Doing well on seeing the Lanc this year.
  4. Definitely thanks for bringing this forward. Words kind of fail me when I look at what these guys did. As an aside, I lived in a block named after him on some camp somewhere.
  5. Thanks for that @ScheF15, that's the beauty. Nice photo. If you don't mind that may well become my desktop photo for a while. July 87, just after I got onto the Sqn. Never really noticed how long the undercarriage is when the jet is in the air.
  6. The Humbrol 209 came up well for the Dayglo. Last year I spent about three months trying to find a nice Dayglo Orange for a Jet Provost, got thre through a spray can after trying Humbrol, Revell, Vallejo, Mr Hobby, Acrylics, Enamels etc. It was okay in the end but it so p-eed me off I did no modelling for the rest of the year.
  7. No, just ended up with them. Planning to build them all, just not likely to.
  8. Nice work. The Gannet is such an ugly but lovely looking aircraft. FAA rather than RAF but good stuff.
  9. Thats a lovely model there. Bi-planes always look good at 1/72, I kind of know that I would never have patience for the rigging. Great work. FYI , 19(F) Sqn nickname was the Dolphins even up to the early 90's (hence the song 'Dolphins here, Dolphins there, Dolphins every F.......................well you know the rest), this down to their being allegedly the first Sqn to fly the type. The Sqn crest has a Dolphin surrounded by wings as the centre piece
  10. That last photo....holy moly............
  11. Thats lovely. Once I finally pluck up the courage to get my Airbrush up and going I will go this large Jet route.
  12. Ref the grey on the Main Wing. As I noted above, I worked on 19(F) Phantom Sqn, and the first time I knew that the main wing was a different grey to the fuselage was when I had a look at the instructions for the then Hasegawa (now Revell) 1/48 RAF Phantom Model. When I finished leave and went back to Wildenrath I had a look at a jet and still struggled to see a difference. And as noted, once you allow for dirt, grime, exhaust gasses, boot marks etc, the greys are never a pure grey colour anyway.
  13. Penny Mordent has had one heck of a year, carried out all duties associated with the funeral really well, and was excellent yesterday in many ways. Black Knight, I think Penny happened to be in a specific role in Parliament when the historic occasions occurred. Is she Leader of the Houses of Parliament If it had not been her it would have been another Politician.
  14. I picked up on a video of the Chinook flying over London from the cockpit and wouldn't have fancied it in a fast moving jet. I would guess there must be rules around height/speed/visibility when flying over urban environments in formation with no room for deviation.
  15. Magenta, didn't see that coming, but is interesting to watch.
  16. X7 and the 200cc X5, loved the looks of them, looked fast sat still.
  17. It was rumoured that the drop from 250cc to 125cc limit for learners was due to arrival of the RD250LC.
  18. That really is as good a model as I have seen on here for a long time. Brilliant work.
  19. Unlicensed loonies more like, I remember watching it at Snetterton, the pack coming off the tight right hander before the start finish knocking each other off on the straight piece of track. Brilliant, but crazy.
  20. A good rider on a Elsie was hard to catch thats for sure. Still remember seeing some boy going down Colchester High street on one wheel when they were very first sold in the UK. And seeing the Pro-Am boys, Alan Carter, Kenny Irons, Niall McKenzie et al going banzai was something else. You are right, Tamiya should have done this years ago
  21. Sven, you are one lucky Gentleman. Not jealous at all, no Sirree......
