  1. That will be for the resin boys rather than Airfix I reckon. This kit looks quality.
  2. Gillingham - Kent - Say it like the J in Jarhead so Jillingham Gillingham - Dorset - Say it like G in Girl so Gillingham A couple of miles from me.... Leasingham pronounced Less-ingham Anwick pronounced Annick
  3. The cousins ahead of their time. I was in Incerlik for four months back in 2000, the local American Forces Network Radio station, called maybe Radio Freedom or Radio Liberty, was using the phrase constantly. It took me a few days and hangovers before I could work out what they meant.
  4. Did catch me out when hearing the Cousins talking about 'Turk eye yea' when referring to local Turkish customs. I also find the fact that everybody who appears on some rubbish reality TV show has undergone 'a journey'. Where on earth did this come from?
  5. Just remember sitting in Eng Ops and the Fat Controller repeatedly saying Rotortune after blade changes....
  6. That looks very nice. Airfix had to make a choice of whether to make the fuselage inner HC Mk1 or 2, I guess they went for the more interesting shaped Mk2 version. Realistically the average modeller will go with it. If it is a concern I suspect it would be no biggie to cover the pipework etc. However if the fuselage was made initially as a Mk1 and you wanted to recreate a Mk2, it would be far more of a job to sort.
  7. Not so sure on that, I think three Open Line points on both sides and a Hi-Pressure point front right Starboard side on both versions.
  8. The down draft from a Chinook is awesome, however oddly I found the Merlin even stronger, hell of a draft.
  9. No, blades were removed when required and put on wheeled stands. Refitted when required followed by a Rotor Tune. For Air Transport in AN-124 etc the Fwd & Aft Rotorheads were also taken off.
  10. Stu, this may not help, but the 92Sqn Blue Diamonds Hunter that sat on the Sqn HAS Site in Wildenrath looked more like a gloss blue version of your first photo, the 1157am Monday photo, certainly nothing like the Blue on the real Hunter in the second photo. Just an observation...................LOL...............
  11. Thats great work there, and you explain the paint mix up really well. Think I might have to have a look at your previous builds. Good stuff.
  12. It is something purchased , sneaked into the Garage or house, and hidden from daylight so the long haired General does not realise how big the aforementioned stash really is.
  13. OCD alert. I am with you, the one 1/48 would either need a second 1/48 to go alongside it or sell, just having one is so....well, odd, I guess.
  14. I think the Cold War has been covered quite well in recent times, not so mid-war where this fits. Don't get me wrong, this is not for me, but I suspect there is going to be some lovely builds on here.
  15. Really Mike, I thought you of all people would know that sentence stands no scrutiny LOL............. 😉
  16. Happy new year bar side, same old result for the U's though 😒 Doomed and going down!!! Mate, you have had a varied year even if you feel it was not productive. I wouldn't worry about that. I finished one kit and copleted one kit, at that rate I suspect stash will last @120 years. Do like the Shack in particular. The Mossie you mention further up was not an 'RAF' display aircraft as such. I have got a feeling it was owned by Rolls Royce but would not swear on it. Oddly enough, I was scanning some photo's from one of the early eighties North Weald Fighter Meets the other night and there was one of the Mossie flying, kicking myself as I cannot remember seeing it fly.
  17. There is a whole thread there all on it's own!!!
  18. Ipswich V Liverpool, Apr1974. Ipswich had scored in the first half. 90th Minute, Reds have a freekick half way down Ipswich left. Chris Lawler pushes it across to the middle of the pitch and Emlyn Hughes smack in from I guess 35 yards. Now, my Brother was at the away supporters end, I went in with my Dad at the Churchmans(?) Home Fan end. As they did in those days, the kids were lifted out and put on the side of the pitch. I remember being probably six foot from the goal post to the keepers right. So when Hughes goal goes in you see a couple of sets of kids arms go up. One of them must be me. 49 years 8 months ago.
  19. All the F-35 Sqn's are 2/3 RAF Manpower and 1/3 FAA, all Joint Force units. I have a gut feeling OC 617Sqn was FAA a couple of years ago.
  20. Lovely bit of art, beautiful paintwork. Somebody needs to kick the Lineys, their standard of work down the Washpan is appalling.
  21. Old....I was watching You Tube last week and found the Liverpool goal from the first football match I ever went to. 50 years next April, 50 years, it feels really strange
  22. More of a gloss brown, kind of a hob knob biscuit colour
