Justin Hawkins - ummmm, don’t know about that.
Thats the chap. Like Paul Di'anno with Iron Maiden, went awry at the wrong time.

However, I think we all know that The Darkness couldn’t sustain that first album and killer live shows.
Seem to remember the lead singer, Justin somebody?, was rather too keen to sustain and increase Columbian export figures single handed

Best one was Thin Lizzy at a theater in Ipswitch in the early 80s, I bet they played 4 hours taking a few breaks.
The Ipswich Gaumont, saw a lot of bands there in the early 80's...
Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Samson, Motorhead, Hawkwind, Diamond Head, Slade, Girlschool, Micheal Schenker Band, Ian Gillan Band, sure there was a fair few others...

Not been to a gig for years,
but best was Pink Floyd in the Koln (Cologne) Football stadium must have been 1988. First half they played the Delicate sound of reason album and second half the classics. First half of the concert you could not really make out the lighting or Lasers as it was not yet dusk. The band had the break and then came out just as the dusk and darkness was inbound and wow, what a show. It had been a warm day and that heat carried on into the night. As an event it was fantastic
Worst was some Mick Hucknall impersonator down the The Crown in Odiham, would only sing Simply Red songs whatever was requested. All went wrong when the CD player broke and he kept on Lip Synching.
Ooops, one I forgot about was I saw Tom Jones in Ballys in Vegas when on Red Flag back end Nov88. First half of the concert was with an orchestra, second half was with a Rock ensemble, and then the encore was with both lots of musicians. The audience were sat around tables ordering drinks and food. He introduced Fleetwood Mac to the audience, they were sat on a table two down three to the right of us. There were eight or ten of us Brits jamming down cocktails at a rate of knots. All very surreal, but to be fair to the fella he could sing, it was a great concert.

Painting might be the easy bit! Remember they are pitched in different directions and the front prop radius is different to the back…..
Sticking things is fine, painting the yellow, or in this case red and white prop bits, nah!!!!
Big win for the U's today mate. Off to Notts County next week as it is only a few miles away.

I got on with the second wheel assembly yesterday
They came together ok, here are the two sets test fitted in position
Got them glued in place, paint touched up and wheel bay doors on. I cut these out so long ago I was sure I would loose at least one of them!
And I touched up the paint on the prop blades and drilled out the back set of holes on the prop bosses. The rear set of blades should be slightly shorter than the front (thank you to who reminded me of that - forgotten who it was!) so I have drilled the rear location holes a little bit deeper so the blades will sit a little further in
On e the props are done I think that just leaves ariels and antenna, pitot tube and she might be done! Could do with some oversized wheel chocks and a rear door access ladder. Anything else I have missed?
Painting all those propellers, you've got far more patience than I McDuff. I hate doing them at the best of time. Other than that great work.

Just got 2x Beauforts and a He 111P (ordered seperately obviously as code only applies once per order) for £46.25.
The He 111 is in stock at local store but the Beauforts need to be brought in for collection and they reckon should be ready tomorrow.
Easter Sunday? Will be shut I reckon.

But I'd leave them all for a Percival Mew Gull... (not a fighter, but at heart I'm a lover, not a fighter.)

If you are opening the gates I would go for a Caravelle, but for aircraft that do Military things, Hunter by a mile, maybe a Draken, then a Spit MkVIII, maybe a Starfighter slips in there, Tigercat as above.....Gnat is lovely little thing......

The key question is though, did it make you rich?
I made a profit when I sold it LOL.
I paid 3000DM, sold it for 3200DM and it needed a new exhaust at that point so I did alright.

Solution: ask what the end user wants the product to do, lock them into a fixed-outcome contract that cannot be changed every time someone in a "ministry" has a brain-fart, then resource the project appropriately.
In my experience it is the Military changing what they need every two or three years when the Officer in charge of identifying the requirement is posted out and the new incumbent in post wants to make a name for themselves.

Quality document.
As noted before, these were held on Microfische for years.
In the Section DMC 22 & 23, Ground and Flying Clothing, lists of prices so people could be billed for losing kit.
Up in the Oil, Paints, Fuels & Lubes, a good few products there that would be banned nowadays due to their contents, Trike is one I noted. Sure I read of a Safety Equipper taking the MoD to court because of Health complications.

Ah, 26 WX sec/ref numbers. I remember it well.
And amendments. At least it was a sitting down job. Usually if you were unwell & unable to work on Aircraft.
Cough.....26WX was the Domestic Management Code.........1680 was the section......99 was the Nation Code...........1234567 (from 3 to 7 figures) was the reference number.....
.......much as we always called them the Section Ref.
Thirty years a stacker, there must be a film in it.

Not a big issue at all but I hope the hoist hook will be refined.
That will be for the resin boys rather than Airfix I reckon.
This kit looks quality.
