Still gets a 100% in the one-upmanship stakes though! cheers Grant

Ok, long time no update, but progress has been made. Paint job done. I had the choice of painting topside or underside first. Chose the topside, but looking at it that was probably the wrong way round. Sad thing was the filler in that rear gap had shrunk considerably (see photo), so when I took all the tape off I still has filling rubbing and painting to do!! Here is the underside. The tank is supposed to be in BMF, see photo on page 102 of the SAM Meteor datafile. And finally tonight, my first attempt at using BMF for canopy framing. Needs practice, but not bad, even if I do say so myself. Now to make some decals! cheers Grant

I thought it looked good, then I flicked back to check the scale!!!! At this time of night (11:30pm) that is just depressingly good. Still something to aim for tomorrow. cheers Grant -
Don't they look good when there (finally) done? cheers Grant

My photo would have green grass and a windsock - but I can't take a camera to work. And, I admit it, I am a failed TAP - what is Flipflopman navigating? Grant

Cool! I haven't got as far as looking closely at the instruction yet, but that colour looks good to me. I like the minimal 'cutaway' effect you did. I have a plan to use up all of the kit bits. The solid fusealge for an in-flight orange one, with the other fuselage in 2 halves mounted in a frame, one showing the insides. This way all I have to do is mould the the inner portion of the wings in resin. 3 models for the price of one! cheers Grant

I do like they way figures and a bit of scenery make the model more interesting. It's a brave man who gets thats close to 1/72 figures with a camera! A nice, busy field servicing scene. Thanks for posting. cheers Grant PS. Which Preiser figures? I keep falling asleep looking through the pages and pages of figures and not finding what I think I am after!

I've got me one of those to do. It looks to make up into a nice little rendition. I like the airfield too. cheers Grant

Hi Dave, Nice looking range of models there. I'll be after you for the details of the orange you used on that X-1 Grant

I had an interesting e-mail chat with Cammett last year about Iso and LifeColour. Iso and LifeColour (neat) definitely don't mix, but a mix of 10%Iso and distilled water did the trick nicely. LifeColour have a great colour range but using them is a bit more of an art the my usual enamels. Seeing the range of Xtracolours now available (IN GLOSS!) I wonder would I ever use acrylics again? Sounds fun. I have a cunning plane for a dog fight diorama, but then things always look really good in my head... Grant -

Thanks Gents, glad you like it. Karl - FiveUS runs a 1 hour highlight of the previous weekends Cup race. It is always on at 19:00hrs but it can be on Wed, Thur or Fri!! Nice link MM. Those webzines are very slick. Love that Scooby in No.2. I took it into work today and got chastized for not cutting off the bonnet catches and replacing them with fusewire and plasticard! Given the huge scale I, apparently, have no excuses. They are a hard lot to please. cheers Grant

Nice little figure Paul. Great painting. I showed this to my daughter, who is into Manga, and she was very taken with it. We dashed over to e2046 and had a look at the Chobits figures. A think a new modelling genre might be added to my portfolio. cheers Grant

That really is the ONLY colour scheme for a Sea King. Not looking forward to seeing them replaced by 'those helicopters that should not be named', but I suppose it has to happen. Sea Kings have been around a long time now. cheers Grant

That's a nice looking kit, and I love the display stand! cheers Grant

Nice clean finish there Grahame. Like the loadout - those tanks are HUGE. cheers Grant

That looks really neat. I like the painting sticks idea. Keep us posted. cheers Grant -
Interesting comments on CA Mike. Recently I used it on an armour kit, and my armour modelling mentor reacted like that was the normal thing to do. Like a lot of these things, it is what works for you and/or what you get used to. cheers Grant

Here is the second car I have made. A colourful NASCAR. Build pics are here. Nice simple build, no major problems. Discovered Revell silver enamel is hopeless for spraying. Some of the decals around the front should have been cut into smaller pieces to avoid having to get rid of so many creases. And, again, the little details can make all the difference. I got some PE windscreen clips and they work really well. Any and all comments welcome. cheers Grant

Tackling a helicopter at 11! A budding Master Modeller there. Canopies are always a pain, but the rest looks pretty good. Nice one! cheers Grant

Nice camo. And is that taxiway made out of kitchen flooring? cheers Grant -
There is always the Cormorant - Canadian EH101 in a colourful yellow and red SAR scheme, but rrue it wont have RAF on the side. cheers Grant

Looking sharp Tim. Silver really does a good job of showing up 'work required'. I have finally made it passed that stage and am now onto the black and yellow undesides. Looks like you should have 3 happy customers there. cheers Grant
