Nope! Not the Airfix kit, but a 1/144 resin kit I picked up on Ebay nearly 5 years ago.
Done up in the colour scheme of the mid 70s as XV242, an aircraft I got a trip in while in the Air Scouts down at RAF St. Mawgan in Cornwall.
No aerials as, at this scale they can get a bit chunky, and I don't really notice them on bigger aircraft as I watch them fly past. I have kept it simple to show off the lines of this pretty, pretty aircraft.
The search light is a cut down LED, replacing the solid resin lump.
Thanks to Dave (Merlin101) for some spare decals that meant I could do the underwing reg.
The North Atlantic is B&Qs ready mix filler painted in Humbrol 145 and dry brushed with white.
As ever, it looks the part from a distance, but my detail finishing still leaves a lot to be desired.
I hope you like it. All comments welcome.
Cheers
Grant
