    Bugger!

Filed away for future (get it?) reference. It would be interesting if anyone can throw any technical light as to why. It sounds like the paint wasn't hardened off enough, or maybe it just didn't like what was underneath. tough luck, hope the recovery works out. Grant or what Mike said
  3. Yep! Very fiddly decaling. I find myself holding my breath a lot while I do all the positioning and I end up really tired so this is taking some time, but it is definitely worth it. Who'd of thought that you needed to be fit to make models! Anyway ... Here is the port side ducting. And the almost finished floor tray cheers Grant
  4. No problem Phil. Though I was beginning to think the postman might be a closet modeller! It was a nice bonus to get anything at all, and doubly so now. cheers Grant
  5. Looking good. I love they way these build, bit by bit, with each bit having about an aircrafts worth of decals on it!!
  6. Isn't she lovely! The acres of room they had for putting radiators etc in is amazing. And thank you Karl - I am glad to see I am not the only one leaving PRMs where the Sun don't normally shine. cheers Grant
  7. Ah, OK. I'll hang fire then. (Phew!) Grant
  8. Does this mean I will have to up-scale my Danish nose? Even if it is only a Naval variant they produce, there are some MMI aircraft that have been fitted with the same nose profile. I don't know if I would get one THAT big, but it might be worth a look. cheers Grant
  9. Those E2046 figures are amazing, but seeing you do this from scratch - fantastic! Good luck with the rest of it. Grant
  10. Hi Dave, Always good to see another Zoo member on the boards. Now lets see some of your work!! cheers Grant
  11. It certainly does look the part. I can't get excited about these modern 1 colour schemes though, even if it does make the painting easier! Give me the old 2 tone transport command colours anyday. Welcome aboard Graig cheers Grant
  12. Lovely! And the cars not bad either Well done on being the first to finish. cheers Grant
  13. WOW! I know it is a car model - but car wax!? It certainly does the trick. I feel some experimenting coming on. cheers Grant
  14. You make it sound so easy! I have some large (2*4cm and bigger) to apply to compound curves, which is leaving me with lots of wrinkles. But, a few hours after my last post, and some more Micro Sol later things are looking better. The stuff certainly transforms the model, so I shall be persevering. cheers Grant
  15. Awesome CF decalling Skii. How do you manage it? Particularly the side pod ducting. Grant
  16. That looks great with all the garage bits around. Grant
  17. Great work on the interior Oz! Grant
  18. Oh no Karl! That is sad news. How old is the tape? I have used the wide stuff before, with no problems, but I have just bought a new role which I was planning on using on my FW24. Maybe I should test a bit first. Thanks for sharing the problem. I hope you get it sorted to your satisfaction. cheers Grant
  19. It is really thin, flexible stuff which readily sticks to my fingers, but boy is it worth it. Much better than just painting the bits black! Grant
  20. That's a looker. Nice to see such a different scheme, and the rigging looks great. cheers Grant
  21. Some progress (of a sort). Here we go with the good bits and the bad bits. All comments and advice welcome. First up the nose cone. I hate white paint!!. AND the square decal is supposed to be on the inside of the upright - Doh! There are 10 decals on it (almost as many on my Vulcan for heavens sake). Top side of rear wing elements, mostly OK. Screwed up the gold heat shield on the left side (right side in pic). CF decals so fine that it ripped when I tried to correct. So when the second lot of CF decals arrives I will try and get that bit right. Underside of rear wing elements. Pretty good. A few chips on the CF but easily sorted (and little seen) Front wing elements. Endplates turned out fine, but the CF decal on the underside of the wing is a nightmare. Second attempt was much better than the first, but managed to tear it - so more CF decal required. And finally tonight, ending on a high. Here is the tub, with a good coat of white paint - Wahoo! cheers Grant
  22. Ooooh. Simple black wings with simple white decals. They have gone on really well there Karl. It's going to be a corker when it's done. Off to photograph my cock-ups now. cheers Grant
  23. That'll be me Lovely finish, AGAIN, Dave. Did you get any photos of your kits in the cabinet at work? cheers Grant
  24. Now I am confused ?!? (although many would claim that was my natural state) Welcome to the other Grant (?) cheers er Grant
