There is a build over on Hyperscale , won't put a link up but it's in Plastic Pix and was posted on the 21st November . Some real life shots of the aircraft as well as the model , which is excellent . -

Blackbird Avro Manchester Mk.I (Airfix Lanc conversion)
taggart replied to woody37's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
I'll be watching with interest , tried looking at the blackbird site myself but all it can get is a small photo of the lincoln conversion and all the rest is about the wix website builder stuff . No proper info on what blackbird offer Seems to be the wix site but with a small photo of blackbirds products added to it , the rest of it has nowt to do with blackbird .- 406 replies

Thanks Chuck , i used it over halfords grey primer . Also gave it a good few days to harden off , i'll try it over there black primer next time , still got a bottle here .
-
I like that a lot , did you have any trouble masking over the aluminum ? When i've used it i had it lift when taking the masking tape off .

How about this ? Not a kit but might be the base for something http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/8325201371/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=569136327&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=8325209852&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=0ANH4GB8J30RN3BBRSJG -

Not wishing to stir things up but this company have a very poor reputation , have a search about on the web. http://www.network54.com/Forum/47211/thread/1327360897/Gordon+Brown+%26amp%3B+Cromwell+Models+-+A+Warning+to+all There are 7 pages there to read and digest , thought about dealing with him myself till i'd read all that -

1/72 Revell Avro Lancaster B.III Special "Dambuster"
taggart replied to Val's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
I've just come across the same problem on mine , been on the go off and on for a while . It's as though it needs a brace of some description placing between the wing halfs before the wheel well is built up , too late on mine for that . -
Very nice build , i do like these Karl Morsers . Someone could do worse than do a kit in 1/48th as in 1/35th they are massive and 1/72nd i think is too small .
-
I'd be well pleased if they were mine , i've still not finished a kit since i took up the hobby again about 6 years ago .
-
You can vary the shades of the finish by priming in different shades before using the Alclad as well . I've had bad experiences with both the gloss black primer and there lacquer's , neither of which wanted to dry fully Bear in mind they do absolutely stink so a proper mask and good ventilation is essential .

I really like that , what stands out to me is the crispness of the canopy masking . -
Agree with the comments about over complex part counts , they do need patience to build . Always have trouble bonding the plastic they use , gave up on a set of there tracks on an SU-76 a while ago , no matter what i used they just would not stay together
-
Great build , the Vallejo surface primers are rubbish in my opinion , just does not bond to plastic and cant be sanded Binned the three bottles i had in case i was tempted to try it again .
-
Very good !

Have you tried using whipping thread that is used for making fishing rod ? Comes in various thickness's and is not hairy like sewing threads , also the NCP type will keep it's colour . -
HobbyBoss 1/72 German Kriegslokomotive Br 52
taggart replied to IgorS's topic in Ready for Inspection - Armour
Great build of the BR Igor , built the Dora in 1/72nd myself . It's not small even in that scale ! Unfortunately it was pulled by diesel locos not steam , not sure of the code but no one makes them in 1/72nd yet . -
Now that i like very much , it's almost as if it's made of steel not plastic !
