  1. Superb work. Looks just like a Pusser's Phantom.
  2. Good point, there is definetely big competition now, the likes of Accurate Armour etc. I still like Verlinden though, the books, [modelling showcases?] were an inspiration.
  3. They did certainly go "quiet" for a while, I seem to remember years ago [before the internt] they were actually a he, just a one man band, almost a cottage industry and filling a niche in the market. The first thing I ever used was the 20mm flak bunker, made out of plaster of paris and a nifty little kit. They are bigger now and I think the diversity and size of their range reflects this. The quality of the modern offerings seems pretty good to me, the resin figures [in particular the multi pose] are good, if perhaps a little on the expensive side.
  4. Good shots, thanks. They are very attractive aircraft and I too giggled at the registration.
  5. Verlinden are still about and going strong, Historex agents carry their complete range. If I knew how, I'd post a link here to take you to the website, instead it's www.historexagents.com.
  6. Looking very nice indeed. Good effort.
  7. Thanks for putting them up, looks pretty chilly.
  8. I thought I would get the modelling gear out for the first time this year and make a start. I've been planning this for a while and have decided to get on with it. This is the rather old now Academy/MRC 1:35 OH58D. I'm planning on a little scene that have the two aircrew briefing with an infantry type while a couple of guys do some last minute work on the helicopter itself. I might throw in a Hummer in the background - just a simple plan then! So obligatory box shot I guess. Then the cockpit components made up, a little bit added to the very visible cockpit and the instrument panel drilled out to give some depth to the instruments. The references are of course the 'net and the excellent book by Floyd S. Werner [a former OH58D pilot]. This won't be a fast build I'm afraid, but hopefully it will be successful.
  9. That is just a classic and phabulous Phantom! Really sharp looking.
  10. I see from the official website that the Patrouille Suisse and thier F5's are confirmed as is the Vulcan - good, lots of noise! I wonder if Harry will bring "his" Apache?
  11. Just have fun mate, sometimes it's easier to build something you are really interested in/attached to rather than slog away at a subject that your heart isn't in. My modelling stuff went away in the pre Christmas "people are coming" clean up and it is still there, it will come out soon and I will go mad with it for a few weeks and then it will go away again for a while. There are some stunning builders here and sometimes that makes me put my stuff away and say "sod it". The most fun I have is when I've finished the building and painting and getting ready to apply decals I have a clear up to make space and get rid of all the "left over" bits.................
  12. That is fantastic. Do you sell them? What else have you done?
