  1. Thank you Master Obi-Jiff. After looking at the box contents I was reminded that I need some decent decals and a set of harnesses at the very least.
  2. Can I get in on this too? I've had an idea for a Fiat G.91/F1 for quite some time.
  3. I havent been here in a while til I came seeking info and decals for my Mosquito. When is the deadline for Ferrari GB. If there is enough time for me to build Id like to enter a Fujimi 1/20 Ferrari 641/2. edit: I found my answer, July 31st gives me plenty of time. I just have a few other projects to complete first.
  4. I used to use 70% Isopropyl Alcohol with Tamiya till I had issues with Gloss White. Someone at ARC or Z5 suggested I switch to 91% Iso Alcohol plus a few drops of Liquitex Flow Aid, http://www.liquitex.com/Products/addflowaid.cfm It slows down the drying time a bit, helps keep it from clogging the airbrush and keeps the paint fluid enough to properly set up on the model surface. You only need a few drops of the stuff in the medium sized paint cups so the 118 ml bottle will last forever.
  5. Looks great, brings back memories of the one I built a few years back. Great work so far. I didnt find the kit that difficult to build, just time consuming, it was the first model I ever built that took over 6 months to complete. I built mine as Gilles' British GP car. If Tamiya ever decided to do Arnoux's Renault from the '79 French GP and bundled it with this kit, it would sell like hot cakes. Here's a video for the ones that are too young to remember the greatest ever dual in motor racing, and it wasnt even a fight for first place, it was for second! Man I miss Murray Walker's commentary.
  6. Wow, great stuff. Thank you very much gentleman. That helps alot. Anyone know about some resin target markers? Ill probably just try to make my own, I think I have some old 250lb GP bombs in the stash somewheres, should be able to make a decent start from there. Thanks again everyone. Cheers Ill definitely post some pics here.
  7. Nice clean build. A buddy of mine has one of these in the stash, I really should have a closer look at it, I may get one for myself. Keep up the good work.
  8. It's the old Aeromaster Mosquito Raiders Pt 5 sheet, # 48552. 1/48 is my scale of choice for Warbirds Speaking of ADS decals, anyone know if they have a website, I've googled them but didnt find anything?
  9. Hey all, having found a decal set featuring Gibson's Mk 20 Mosquito here at Britmodeller (Thanks Chris), I now want to start collecting info on this aircraft. I believe the markings supplied are for Gibson's final mission, I will likely build it up as it would have appeared that night. I came accross a post mentioning that the Mk 20 Mosquitos (Canadian made B.Mk.IV) were not built with the teardrop bubbles on the side canopy glass but I have not been able to find any reference to that, the Mk 20 at the CWH Museum shows these in place? Could that one have been restored with different canopy parts. One of the profiles I have found shows the underwing slipper tanks in place on it, I didnt think the Mk XX or Mk IV had the capability of carrying those, could 627 Squadron have modified thiers so they could? (That would be useful on the pathfinder missions they flew) One final question for now, Gibson was on a pathfinder mission the night he died. As a Mosquito Pathfinder, what would the typical loadout be, would it have the cameras mounted in the bomb bay, would it carry any bombs at all? Thanks in advance.
  10. Check out over at the www.zone-five.net forums. I believe Dave Roof has a nice reference article pinned there about the Legacy Hornets. Also over at ARC, there should be a tools and tips article about converting an F/A-18C or D to an earlier mark.
  11. Oh well, some day. Try Belcher Bits decals. I believe they have a sheet with markings for a Sikorsky. I've used thier decals on my CAF CH-124 Seaking and they are very nice.
  12. What scale will that Italeri Sikorsky be?
