I have just bought the 1.48 scale OH-13S Sioux from Italeri (kit no.857). Although it includes poorly-registered decals for a British Sioux, it is very obvious that it cannot be built accurately as the cockpit 'bubble' has doors that are far too big. Is there an alternative 1.48 Sioux with the correct doors that could possibly be used? As far as I can seen there are none. There is also a real paucity of after-market parts. Thanks, Michael

Hi Jim The PR.XI is my favourite Spitfire and I'm amazed it has not been done justice by one of the plastic manufacturers. I attempted a conversion many years ago using an Airwaves PR.X/XI resin conversion on the Hasegawa Mk.IX Spit. What stopped me in my tracks was trying to rescribe the wings to PR configuration. I recently bought the Airfix PR.XIX with the same idea as you, just need to find a suitable Merlin nose. You mention probs with the canopy. Can the PR.XIX glazing in the Airfix kit not be used for a PR.XI?

The Stormer family has chevron shaped track shoes, not rectangular. I can offer these here, but they are designed for Spanisn Scorpion and Scorpon 90.
