What is your opinion of the hobbyboss kit I see it on eBay for around £12 how does it compare to the Airfix or Fujimi ones. I have seen the polish ones and they are a bit basic. The seats look good Rodders

I was looking through the stash when I came across the old matchbox OH-58D and I thought to myself I wonder if I could make it look like a jetranger so I had a go and this is the result. It wont any prizes but it has given me great fun along the way. I have done everything by eye it has not been anywhere near a scale drawing. I wanted it to be recognisable as a Jetranger to anyone I am not fussed if the thing is far from perfect. I always say that my kits are best seen from 5 ft away well in this case make it 7ft. My first conversion for many years. If anyone has the High skid esci jetranger and wants to part with it PM me Rodders

Works fine in 1/72 This is a 1/72 Revell seaking. For those interested I bought a few cheap photo frames from the local charity shop threw away the picture and the glass. Cut the grass mat to size and there you have it a cheap display base. Rodders

http://www.modelenginenews.org/ed.2003.07.html#t2 I remember seeing the 1982 winner fired up at the model engineers show in 1982 and it even sounded like a merlin The other thing I remember was a chap had built a V8 engine that was about 4 inches long and that worked as well. I rember being blown away by the V8 because as a miller I understood the engineering that went into it. Must have stayed for an hour watching it. Rodders

Matchbox Gloster Gladiator

In the "old" days rigging could be done with stretched sprue and a heated sewing needle held just underneath the "wire" to tighten it up. Does anyone still use this method? Lovely job on the kit looks very nice Rodders -
