Revell (ex-Mauve) Lippisch P.13a
Phas3e replied to VMA131Marine's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Good stuff, its a rare kit these days I'd love to get hold of one. -
The dropped flaps look great, Its the one thing that puts me off smaller scale Me262s but I think you have convinced me to try cutting them out, I also wouldnt worry too much about the slats, I think the ground crew were known to push them back to keep them safe from debris fouling them.
-
definitely looks like it would have gone up against Godzilla
-
Its so you can bend them up for a crash diorama
-
The lack of stencil data is really weird.
-
awesome work. I picked up the kit recently for a song as I built it when Jurassic Park first came out and the nostalgia hit me, I will have to save a couple of pics as reference as I love what you did with the jaw and the eyes looks fantastic
-
Revell would do well I think from a "classic" line of 1/48 monogram kits like airfix is doing, as well as rereleasing some of the great luftwaffe stuff from the 90s and early 2000s that you cant get anymore ( I really want the 48th Lippish P13) and I would snap up a couple of the 32nd Erla G-10s as I kinda thought that kit would hang around and didnt get one on release.

The weekend boxing of the AS is already super affordable with 5 decal options, I'm not sure how Academy can do better, or is it just to open a road to the Asian market?

Kiwi Sherman
Phas3e replied to Enzo the Magnificent's topic in Australian and New Zealand Group Build
You have save me a hassle as well, I have the same Zvezda kit and Stars decals for the 19th as my great uncle drove Shermans with the unit until his discharge in Nov 44, I wasnt aware of differences in early and late M4A2a and would have made the same mistake. I guess I can make a later OD one using some of the decals and maybe find an Asuka kit to do it proper at a later date. -

ooo, Not much in the way of N's on the market right now, this could do ok. -
Hi all. Finished yesterday and got it into the booth. I'm no expert (this is my second armour build) but this is a lovely little kit, the only issues were some of the fit on the rear deck which seems to be a common looking around at builds. I replaced the kit skirts with brass sheet and used copper wire to create the loops on the sides as the kit only gives you little plastic nubs. Painted in Tamiya 50/50 XF60 and XF57 hairspray chipped over a base of Black primer and primer red in a preshaded style, Weathered with pretty much everything, oils, enamels, pastels, and pigments. thanks for looking

I always took the close up of the colour demarcation to indicate the soft edge overlap of the colours and that Erla were the only ones to take it literally hence their saw tooth pattern.

1/35 - Messerschmitt Bf.109G-6 "Gustav" by Border Model - released
Phas3e replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
It has more accurate rivet detail on the upper wing than Trumpeter which lacks the circle of rivets where the wheel well is located. If they get the spinner shape right it looks like it will be a winner out of the box.- 44 replies

Round 2 Star Wars license for reboxed and new kits
Phas3e replied to Phas3e's topic in The Rumourmonger
I'm sure they will wet the appetites' with the older less detailed but decent scaled kits to hit the nostalgia buttons, maybe even with some retooling involved. But new tooled kits should get people excited, the chance of a 1:32 X-Wing or AT-ST has me a little pumped. I also grew up watching wacky racers so the chance I might get to build Dick Dasterdlys Mean Machine is awesome. -
rerelease of the Macchi's is good news, the 1:48 hasegawa 205 rebox with the massive decal sheet is hard to get and can get pricey...I know because I brought one on ebay last month
