  1. I reckon he's bought a giant paint pot! But seriously, what a wonderful Wessex. Regards Reggie
  2. But they don't look right with a Turbo conversion though! My fave's are the amphib float fitted beasties, they're just perfection. Regards Reggie
  3. Or Ski's! If you find any parts are missing from your Airfix Beaver kit then let me know, as I've got loads of bit boxes of them! Regards Reggie
  4. Hi KPNuts, a very skilled rider to balance on a wet, slimy log. Nicely done. Regards Reggie
  5. Hi Rick, it is my all time favourite aircraft. The only thing that betters a Beaver, is a Beaver on Floats! Regards Reggie
  6. And you could always consider the 1/48th scale Hobbycraft DHC-2 Beaver, as used by the AAC! Regards Reggie
  7. Hi Mish, in that case, sign me up for something Mini'ish! Regards Reggie
  8. Hi There, can I ask a question, and I'm sorry if it's something that I should know but how long will the GB be running for? I ask as I've got a vehicle project that I want to consider starting but it could go on for yolks, so I'd hate to start, get part way through and then find that the GB's closed. Regards Reggie
  9. Hi Paul, I thought that G-ANAR was the prototype Mk11 Beaver, with the Leonides, square rudder and increased span? The odd thing is that this very same aircraft had a Pezetel engine conversion sometime later. Very impressed to see a completed Frog Beaver, which looks superb. I have one in my stash that I will build, when my skills are such that I could take on such a rare kit. And, until then, I've got over 30 Airfix Beavers to practise on. Regards Reggie
  10. Hi EasyAl, nice work and congratulations re the RugRat. Regards Reggie
  11. Hi Guys n Gals, I know many people give Mike Brewer (from the Discovery Channel) some stick but I think the coverage he gave, after the Chinook he'd been a passenger in was 'under fire' was brilliant. Here's a short excerpt from the program. Regards Reggie
  12. Hi Guys n Gals, OK I'll be really greedy with my Dream Machines. For 4 wheels, it would have to be a Ford Escort Mk1, Roger Clarke, rally rep in 1/12th scale. For 2 wheels, it would have to be my much loved Yamaha XT250 Serow, in 1/6th scale (my fave bike that I own). Regards Reggie
  13. All I can say is 'At Last'! My order will be placed as soon as they confirm they're ready for release. Regards Reggie
  14. Now this I have to see! Regards Reggie
  15. Hi The Flash, any completed Mini is great in my book. Regards Reggie
  16. Hi Cliff, I dare not say just how many Beaver's I have in my stash! But at the last count there were in excess of 30 Airfix, 1 Frog, a couple of prototype 1/200 scale, in white metal, a Kelloggs freebee, plus loads of decals. My good mate Andy, from Thunderbird Models has some new decals for the Otters to be released next month and some Beaver stuff in March. My stash is rather odd, there are only Beavers, a couple of Audi rally cars and a few 1/24 scale Mini's and that's it! Regards Reggie
  17. Hi There, well this would give me a kick up the backside, to get me doing plastic surgery, for the first time for well over thirty years and I would grab one of the many Airfix Beavers from my stash. There's nothing quite like a radial engine, in my book. When fitted to a float plane, it's brilliant. When fitted to a Beaver, it's bliss. When fitted to a Beaver, on floats, it's magical! regards Reggie
  18. Simple choice in my book! It has to be the Cat!!!! Regards Reggie
  19. Hi RMP2, lovely work on the Mini. As for registration plates, could I direct you to this thread; http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234956296-personalised-vehicle-registration-plates-odd-sizes-added/?hl=%2Bregistration+%2Bplate I placed an order through SRS Signs for the registration plates, for my 'Italian Job' build and I have to say the quality is absolutely superb. The turn round was quick and the price more than reasonable, so don't waste your time faffing about and support Stuart Rose. By the way, if anyone was wondering what has happened to my build, my mum was taken seriously ill and we fought her conditions for 13 months, before she passed away. Everything else in our lives was rightly put on hold, work, day to day life, my return to plastic modelling, everything. I'm hoping that 2015 will bring my Mojo back and the inclination to re-start. Regards Reggie
  20. Hi Imster, as a fellow biker, I wish you a fast, complete recovery. And also being a biker (who averages around 25,000 miles per year), I have to ask, how's your bike? Regards Reggie
  21. Good Morning, from being about 9 years old, I started noting the aircraft registrations, after seeing my first copy of CAM and became an avid plane spotter. The hobby took me all over the World and I loved it until they started to retire the aircraft like you guys have shown it this thread. My own fave's were the 707's, DC8's, VC10's, and the earlier classics like the DC6's and Connie's. It was possible to recognise some of the aircraft by the sound alone or, in some cases, the smoke trails they left on approach, such as the CV880's! Nowadays, the designs are basically very efficient coaches, fitted with wings. Most look the same, most sound the same and, you've already guessed that I've given up the hobby. So I'm still interested in aviation, I take trips to the likes of Oshkosh and can usually be found dunking biscuits into a cuppa with the guys down at Barton but my log books have been binned! I really enjoyed viewing this thread and hope it continues. Regards Reggie
