  1. Hi Tom, so what grade of paper do you print it out the copies on then? I ask as I've downloaded a paper version of the Yamaha Serow that I ride and one day plan to build it!
  2. Hi Plasto, well said Good Sir. I was just hoping that my order for three Beavers was to come to fruition but it now looks like the second choice kit's not going to to return. Shame.
  3. Hi Beefy, I have a similar idea in mind for a Beaver float plane, against a dock and I must admit that your water effect is just stunning! I'll have to take a look at the 'floaty section' for tips.
  4. Hi Andrew, what a fine job. Also brings back memories, especially the sound of the beasts.
  5. Hi F-32, it's been a few years since I was last there and wonder if the DHC-3 Otter's still under wraps, or has she gone elsewhere?
  6. Did someone mention the Mighty Beaver! I must admit the Beaver's my all-time favourite aircraft ever built but anything from DHC (up to and including the 7) is good in my book! Beautiful job on the 'bou , very, very nice.
  7. Hi Guys n Gals, I remember when the Leyland National was launched and my surprise when I first heard one! What a distinctive racket it made. The very first one I saw in Bolton had an Airfix themed advertising scheme all over it, which made it even more interesting to me.
  8. Hi Codger, from memory, way back in around '86/'87'ish. they were just over 200bhp, in totally standard spec but in later race spec they passed 500bhp.
  9. Hi Guys n Gals, Ginetta racing is live on ITV4 today. I'll be watching for sure.
  10. Hi Windy37, nice collection but no SWB Quattro S1?
  11. Hi There, what I would do is send an e-mail to the manufacturers and see f you get a response. Their contact is gremlinmodels@beotel.yu Good luck with your search.
  12. Hi There, have you tried contacting this manufacturer? http://gremlinmodels.freeservers.com/411.htm
  13. Hi Perdu, that would make a most pleasant addition to your AAC collection for sure.
  14. Hi Perdu, how could you not buy a Beaver for a tenner? Tut tut, and yes you should've! I've got loads of 'em in my stash but I can't get enough Beaver (no sniggering at the back).
  15. Hi Dave, the last time I looked it was at 59% but the status wasn't at 'Now Available'.
  16. Hi Guys n Gals, I just looked at the Airfix KitStarter forum to see that the mighty DHC-2 Beaver shows at a status of 'Now Available'. Can't wait to get my pre-order delivered. Has anyone got theirs yet?
  17. Hi Mad Steve, for me whenever I see mention of the Z1300, I instantly remember Arto Nyquist, from Finland, who used to do stunts on one, with the highlight being that he used to trash the tail-light assembly! He also used to jump off the back of the bike and was towed behind it whilst wearing clogs! I'll be following this build for sure.
  18. Hi Mad Steve, thanks for your reply. I'll start practising with my airbrush etc before a decide on which of these options to try out. Hi Rick, what a lovely finish you've managed to obtain there. Thanks for your suggestion as well, most appreciated.
  19. Hi Vontrips, thank you kindly for yet another option. I'm learning loads today and I'm really glad I asked. Once all option shave been offered, I'll try 'em out on test parts and select the best one for the final work.
  20. Hi Stuck, hmmm sounds interesting. Are you going to take this route?
  21. Hi Injidup, that Pale Gold looks to be a really good match. I've bought an airbrush as well, so that's another skill I need to practise with!
  22. Hi Guys n Gals, E-bay came to the rescue where I've managed to find a scale model of my first ever brand new bike, my much loved 1982 Yamaha XT250. The Bandai kit looks really good and will hopefully build up to be an accurate replication of my original. The main thing that needs attention is the chrome finished wheels, as my particular machine came with rims that were anodised in gold, so I wonder if any of you kind folk could make any suggestions of how to do this? Would it be better to leave the chrome in place and try to cover it with a gold top finish (this could be difficult as how the heck to you cover chrome) or should I strip the chrome off with some suitable chemical and then look for a gold chrome finish etc? Any suggestions would be most appreciated and please note I haven't built a kit for well over 35 years, so I'll do some basic practise work on some old Airfix things I've bought cheap on E-bay, to re-learn processes. And yes, I will start a build thread as soon as I'm ready to begin, with loads of piccies and plenty of errors, for sure!
