  1. Does using cellulose/Mr Levelling thinner with these paints still make them a gloss finish
  2. I thin it with a little distilled water. Clean up with water then a quick blast through with IPA.Picked mine up from The Range £9.99 for a large bottle, or you can buy a smaller one to try but that was £4.00

    1/48 kits

Trumpeter MiG23M haven't made it yet but if it go's together as well as it looks on the sprues should be good Eduard Mig21 and their Mirage 3 kits
  4. Thanks, even better MF's not my strong point at the moment
  5. Second that can't wait to see it all finished
  6. Come on Mr Song stop teasing with the F1 and tell us what went wrong with the Jaguar wing
  7. Used the cheap ones on my Iwata and H&S had no problems
  8. Thanks for that Jennings, my plan can carry on
  9. What are the external differences between the F-MF Edit: Just checked and too much, bugger will have to wait for a F then,or do a IAF F-15 to go with the MF
  10. Thanks Jame's, Mine will be a 40D with 100-400zoom.Also have a 70-200 f4 but don't think I'll have the reach with that. The beech shelter was the thing I was thinking about, somewhere to put the gear if you get a good downpour, which given the weather we have been getting seems a certainty with my luck. Edit: By the way some cracking photos again.
  11. Funny thing is Mike if you look at the port wing in your photo above, it doesn't look to bad, but the starboard one you can see where they went wrong. They've missed the step in the wing to slats line.
  12. Going to have to make a trip, no excuse as it's nowhere near the round trip you have to make James. What sort of gear, not photo stuff, do you take with you Jame's ie, Shelter as the weather can change quite quickly there
  13. Looks to me like they have flared in the slats to the first part of the wing instead of having the slats extend out as in the plans and picture

    Primers

Tried a lot of primers and seem to come back to Mr Surfacer1000. Thinned 70% thinner to 30% Surfacer and it gos on silky smooth at this rate. If it's to thick it tends to go grainy when sprayed. Another thing for me it seems the only one to resist lifting when removing masking tape.I tend to give the model a good clean with a tissue dampened with IPA before priming
  15. Very nice indeed, I like the way you have displayed it
  16. I picked up a tip on this site about spraying certain panels and other parts black before you do the overall finish this then makes the top coat of alclad darker on those panels. I tried this on a Mig15 I did and it works well Edit. Colour of Mr Surfacer is light grey
  17. Just used some Alclad Aluminum ALC-101 over Mr Surfacer 1000 and that's come out quite bright Perhaps it's the dull aluminum you've used. They say spray over black primer/gloss, but I thought that was for their polished/chrome finishes
  18. Thanks for the replies, will try and source the Afterburner ones Edit: Just ordered some from Lucky Model.
  19. Can anyone point me in the right direction for some Syrian/Egyptian Mig21MF decals 1/48 Want to do a Eduard kit in their markings circa 1970ish and can't seem to find any, it's to go along side a Israeli Mirage 111 I'm doing Thanks Colin
  20. They may rust with acrylics, as water based, but should be fine with enamels ect.
