  1. If you give Glasgow Uni Archives an email they should have the original plans they may be able to make copies for you?
  2. Just wondering if anyone has a contact for Arcturus Press? They seemed to do a few naval books that look rather interesting but hard to get a hold of! Have the contact number 01406 423971 but doesn't work and found a few other forums that talk about them but the people that posted about them haven't replied to email.
  3. Same i know its a couple of years old but im sure Glasgow Archives would have these plans but i know they are iffy with people taking pictures of Naval plans.
  4. Hood's 5.5 inch were 82lbs but IIRC they were all removed by 1940??
  5. New book coming out, wonder if this will be better compared to the others. I suppose there's only so much you can write about the same subject http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bismarck-Hood-Denmark-Technical-Analysis/dp/1781552312/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1365075194&sr=8-15&keywords=denmark+strait Was the doomed HMS Hood really sunk by a shell that penetrated her wooden decks to explode in one of her magazine compartments? Others believe that Bismarck's fortunate shell detonated in Hood's cordite supply - the powder that propelled 82-lbs shells some staggering 17,700 yards - suggesting that damage examined on the wreck indicates a more distinct explosion. Or was the Hood's destructive and violent demise a new, and until now, unexplained act of war? Aliens?
  6. That info was from Captain Pridham in the book Flagship Hood "Captain A.F Pridham, a memeber of the Court which tried Sawbridge and soon to command the Hood, revealed many years later that Sawbridge had produced a fake chart of the movements of his ship, but this did not go into the minutes because it was held behind closed doors. He also disclosed that Bailey instructed Vice-Admiral James , his defence friend, not to make any statement which would embarrass Sawbridge." That was apperantly from the Pridham papers although can't seem to find where they are, although not sure why he would create false charts as it was known at the time that the Hood was more in the wrong than Renown but then the Hood was the Flagship.
  7. First experience i had with a resin kit was the reji octavia wrc but thats with Ian at pro modelling to get done, same with this one as well.
  8. Thanks for that sounds like one to add to the list. Did hear that the Renown Captain falsified the charts for the court martial but recently been given a heads up on the files for it which im trying to get copies off, would be interesting to find out if that was true.
  9. Went for the 1/700 niko uss Gendreau and hobby boss 1/700 uboat from wem in the end. Looking to get it done in the livery from the book that you sent graham.
  10. Couldn't find a book section so thought I might be best here. Does anyone have this book at all? Just wondering if it has much info in relation to the Hood Renown collision? No local library's have it or local book stores and did ask a couple of eBay sellers but they weren't willing to check unless I was buying which is far enough, same with water stones not willing to order it to check unless I was buying it which I don't fancy if it doesn't have any info about it.
  11. Ah ok just seen the USN part. It was a higher res version of that that graham emailed me, hopefully that's the livery she will have once completed
  12. Cheers Graham Btw John noticed this on your site [ url]https://www.whiteensignmodels.com/p/USN+WWII+Destroyer+Escorts/6691/#.UVTD0WQgHCQ[/url] Do you knkw if this contains images of Braithwaite at all?
  13. Ohhh had a look at that do you think there would be much improvement?
  14. Just came across this pic, much different comapred to how she looks in the others
  15. PM sent Search the 1/700 scale pitroad they all seem discounted everywhere although not surprised as it looks like it came out in 1994. WEM do have a 1/700 niko uss Gendreau which is a Buckley, Was there much difference's between the U.S ones and the RN ones? Which search shows there isn't but i'm usually wrong. http://www.whiteensignmodels.com/p/Niko+Models+1700+USS+Gendreau/4864/#.UUb8H9vKf_s
  16. Thanks 1/700 is roughly the scale im looking at. Got a 1/350 Hood and 1/72 Nimrod in progress and 4x 1/32 mossie's so don't have space for another 1/350! You don't by any chance have a copy of the picture of Braithwaite?? They seem to be really scarce.
  17. Does anyone know if this came in a smaller scale than 1/350? Been trying google and also searching ebay and can only seem to find 1/350 and 1/240. Also when doing some research came across the book " The Buckley Class Destoryers" by Bruce Franklin, just wondering if anyone else has it and if so is there much info on HMS Braithwaite (K468).
  18. Sadly i don't have the skill/talent/patience to build it so its with Ian at http://www.facebook.com/ProModelling He's also working on my HMS Hood and Nimrod models for me aswell, will but up the progress reports of it.
  19. Well it arrived today looks rather good. Then had a look at the skirts close up And one of the "wheels" think this will be getting used as the spare!
  20. Steve do you have a build up to see the issues and how you resolved them?
  21. Yeah when he told me I did think omg! But look at most of the current ones and they are about 110-120 euros. Can you remember what was in the kit.
  22. I hope so it's costing me 135 euro!
  23. Woke up this morning to an email from reji they found one in thier warehouse and I bought it.
  24. Thanks guys if anyone sees one or digs one out let me, emailed all the company's in CZ that sold them and no one has any left.
