  1. Sadly not - they didn't show it.... Some excuse about last minute editorial problems 😞
  2. Yep, happened to us as well! Bought new (well, pre registered from dealer) back in 2015. And from then on, despite numerous and repeated "no marketing, no emails etc" letters, emails, and such like, we would get regular, emails, letters, flyers about "come to our new car sales launch day" or " we are having £1000 deposit contribution on all xxx cars, how about coming along"..... Eventually had to make a formal Data Protection/Removal request that they remove our contact details from their database, and only have them in regards to our servicing. Any other use after that would be against the GDPR / DPA. Guess what? Company has been taken over, and they've started again! Now claim we have a legitimate interest, and so they are allowed to email! (I should point out that we have in fact sold the car, and have told them this as we had a servicing plan with them, and had our MOT done there. Therefore they do not have the 'legitimate interest' excuse....) Anyway, something that makes me happy is getting my nose stuck into a good book. The book of choice at the moment is "Terry Pratchett - a life in footnotes". Very good, very interesting, and for me, a lot of laugh out loud moments reading about the history and origins of my favourite book series - Discworld!
  3. That was from several websites as well, not just verbally. I personally cannot do the work as I do not have the technical ability to do so, and anyone I have approached to do the work has declined due to the car being an EV. If you have the ability and are confident enough to do it then fair enough. I do not have that ability, not would I be confident enough to mess around under the bonnet of an expensive bit of kit and with high voltage electric power items around. I prefer to leave it to professionals to fit, and they have told me it's not possible at this time.
  4. It's possible that the images are no longer available on the hosting site, which is why they are not showing. Or as mentioned in another thread where you have posted the same question, they are hosted on an in-secure website so will not display on a site that uses HTTPS. Either way, nothing to do with using a mobile browser to view.
  5. We've never had a problem when we've had our mot. Ours is fitted just to the side of our rear view mirror, and it's never been queried. We don't remove it at all, any part of the system, as not permanently fitted to the car (was in our diesel car, and would be swapped with our self-charging hybrid). Now that we have an EV, we have been told that (at the moment) you cannot have an aftermarket dashcam fitted due to the way the EV electrical system works! I have done some checking, and this is confirmed by several car websites!
  6. We use nextbase dashcam for the front, 312gw. Apparently it can connect to phones and is WiFi enabled, but despite being fairly competent with tech, I've never been able to get it to talk to my phone!!!! However, saying that they do a lot of front and rear camera setups so may be an idea to have a look at their range. Halfords stock them so are readily available to look at.

    Stealth Stash

My better half knows exactly what I have in the stash, and where it is in the house... No need to hide it, no need to sneak any kits in pretending they are another raffle win, or anything else. In fact, I tend to discuss with her what I'm buying, or want to buy, so that she can make a record in her secretive way that she does, for Birthdays and Christmas presents (she also does that If I happen to mention any books, CD's or Blu-Rays that I may like during the year!) But then again, I've just had to do an inventory of all my kits and aftermarket for insurance valuation purposes. Just renewed our house and contents insurance, and when we realised just what the value of my stash was if we had to replace it, we decided to do a complete inventory. We are also doing this for all of our books (over 1000) and DVDs, Blu-Rays, etc that we have in the house - currently an on going project, which we do not expect to finish before March/April time at the soonest. Copies will be kept online in our various cloud storage accounts, and emailed to various family members as well.
  8. I'll get the site admins to move to the correct area - should be posted in the Airbrushes area of the site... In Large RED CAPITALS at the top of the page - queries for site only not modelling related!
  9. @Steve Noble I rarely post any comments in the RFI, for various reasons, and do not post any builds in there anymore! IGnore the fact of the missing pics, I can't replace them as (a) don't have the pics, and (b) no longer have the kit as it got badly damaged... The salient part is towards the end. That's why I don't post builds or comment in RFI anymore!
  10. @Mark V The bit about airliners.net is in the announcements bit, at the top of the landing page of the forum... https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235012328-airlinersnet-and-copyright/
  11. Hate it! Mind you with being Autistic, and hating large and noisy crowds, I dislike having to go shopping as well.... We have a catch 22 situation🙄 In person shopping, you can ask questions, check specs, actually measure something to see if it meets your needs etc, but as I said, here we have a dichotomy of needs. Unless there is a need (doctor, optician, nurse etc), I don't like strangers getting too close into my personal space, I start getting uncomfortable (the Covid social distancing rules were brilliant for me😄), people would have to keep their distance, and if they got too close, I could legitimately tell them to move away!!!! Now however, it's little bit more difficult to do so. I still ask people to move away if they start getting uncomfortably too close, but sometimes they can start getting abusive. I'm sure those BM members in the UK are familiar with the Sunflower lanyard/card scheme (helps to show that the wearer has a hidden illness or disability), well I wear one, along with a card, explaining that I am autistic, and another asking not to stand too close. I have had people start having a massive go at me, and become really aggressive, and abusive towards me when I have asked them to take a step or two away from me because they are making me feel uncomfortable due to how close they are in shops. I've had one young lady in a local supermarket start yelling at me that I had something wrong in the head, all because she was stood so close I could almost hear her breathing! That really did make me feel uneasy! And this is why I dislike going out shopping on my own - I have to drag the wife with me if I can (unless it's shopping for her of course!) The wife keeps asking about doing our shopping online and having it delivered due to my dislike of crowds, etc. In fact we used to do just that. However, the number of times they made mistakes, or sent short dated items, or, with having dietary requirements we always state "DO NOT REPLACE", they would often replace an item with something that was totally unsuitable for both of our requirements, and had to be sent back with the driver, thus leaving us short, and us having no option but to go and buy said items anyway! So at that time we gave up with the online shopping fiasco!
  12. The next Airfix Model World is published on 12th Jan. This is about a week later than the usual date. One can only assume that the Airfix catalogue announcement will be during the week preceding that AMW publication date. 2022 announcement was on Monday 9th Jan, and AMW was published on 11th, I suspect the date will be the 10th Jan.
  13. @Richard E Something akin to that happened to me about a month or so ago! I was walking back from the local school where we have our Church meetings one Sunday morning (I literally live 200m away from the school!) I was just about coming to our house when a father walked past with his very young, probably no more than 3 year old, son trailing behind on his scooter. All of a sudden the child stopped, looked at me and raised his hand! Young lad wanted me to give him a high 5! It was just such a sweet little act from an innocent little child! The childs' father had heard me say hello, and "oh, do you want a high 5?" when he raised his little hand up in the air, and even he laughed when he saw what was happening. I have to admit it brought a massive grin to my face and a lot of joy. My wife was still socialising at church and so didn't see this. When I told her what had happened a little later on, even she found it amusing and so sweet. (Even writing this now has brought a huge grin to my face remembering about it!!!😄)
  14. I personally only tend to use Tamiya Acrylic paints in the main (with a couple of other brands for metalic paints). However, I do still have a number of Aifix kits in my stash. My way of dealing with this is to write a conversion chart each time I buy a kit. I have 4 books, one for Airfix, one for Revell (one each for those as they are the most numerous), and then all the rest are split alphabetically between two other books. I'll use online conversion charts, android apps. and web-sites that have done a lot of conversion work and have charts available. I do exactly the same process for all the kits I buy, Revell, Eduard, Italeri, Airfix, AFV. AMP, etc. I then use this as a reference when building so that I know what paints I need to hand during construction.
  15. I already have a 1TB SSD, 500GB NVME, & 240GB SSD in the same system! The 1TB is for 1 single game that takes up over 400GB of data(!) The NVME drive is my boot drive, and the 240 GB is purely for Linux. In addition to all this, I also have a NAS with 2x2TB drives for all household data, photos, etc.
  16. Nothing plastic to fondle sadly, but have been updating my PC! Still have a slightly old fashioned HDD (albeit 4TB) in my main desktop system. Only used for installing games. Been wanting to swap it out for some time for a SSD. price of a single 4TB SSD is way too much (excess of £400) but I managed to find a pair of 2TB drives for £130 each, massive £60 (each) reduction on the normal price! Would be rude not to😀 Plus side, they use less energy as well as being much faster.
  17. Cannot respond regards the fit as I do not have the kit, however, this workbench blog from Airfix, explains that the original mouldings were lost, and that they had to reverse engineer new moulds and make new transparencies! So they should fit better than the originals (according to the blog anyway!) https://uk.airfix.com/community/blog-and-news/workbench/beagle-b206-basset-designed-take-world
  18. Nope. No Airfix kit ever includes canopy or any other masking.
  19. Received my copy of Airfix Model world this morning, this is the December published but dated January 2023 issue (confusing I know...) On the back inner page is always the next issue date, which is usually during the first week of the month. January publication seems to have been pushed back to the second week, on street sale date now 12th jan. So it would seem that the 2023 catalogue announcement must be w/c 09/01/2023!
  20. Picked one up whilst at Telford from the wonderland models stand. Not allowed to touch it though as it's been hidden away by SWMBO as a Christmas present. I've not even had chance to look in the box before it was taken from my hands!😁
  21. After a really bad day... I had an unexpected knock at the door around 18:30. Placed on the floor, was my Airfix/Hornby Hobbies parcel for which I had received no notification that it had even been despatched! Inside said parcel was an Avro Anson which cost me the princely sum of £3.95 all for the cost of delivery only! Those flying hours certainly added up this year It certainly cheered me up (My bad day consisted of having to spend time in the town centre, doing a few bits, which I don't like doing as I hate large crowds, and get very anxious as a result - its an autistic thing. And then on the way home, had some idiot pull out from a junction, causing me to slam on my brakes at 40mph.... He didn't like me beeping my horn, as further down the road, is a set of traffic lights, and the driver got out of the car, and started shouting at me as to why I beeped him, and what was the problem??? I ignored him, pointed to my dashcam- as I turned it towards him at my window- and said I was not engaging with him, or winding down my window, and he should just get back in his car. At this point the lights turned green, and I just pulled round his car and drove off, along with everyone else behind me. I think we had the last laugh, as he was still stuck at the lights getting back into his car. The incident was all on camera, and was reported to the police. I was still shaking an hour later whilst talking to 101 when reporting the incident. I was able to get a good description of the car, and of the person from the footage.)
  22. All my orders from this year, direct from Airfix, still show as "processing" - but they have all been received ok. It's more likely that the despatch stage hasn't been linked to the website orders to update our accounts screen. I've placed quite a few from this years releases!
  23. Probably nothing to do with Hannants - just the way their courier has decided to route everything! The only link I can make between Airfix & Hannants is DPD. For any large parcels I add to my Hannants "basket" DPD is shown as an option. With Airfix, the express shipping option is via DPD. I would therefore assume that DPDs transit hub must be in Germany. As to why they hold it for a month before shipping, I would have no clue at all I'm afraid.
  24. Just did the same search and Rabbit-Leader beat me to it! http://www.rafcommands.com/database/serials/details.php?uniq=HE634
  25. I have the same A/B and the same needle conversion. Funnily enough, I have the complete opposite when trying to use the 0.5 - nothing comes out, and all I get is "blow back!" It acts as if the needle is completely blocking any flow of air, and I get bubbles in the cup, and nothing at all coming out of the nozzle! 0.2, & 0.3 work fine no problem (except for seemingly a lot of overspray at all pressures - have even replaced the nozzle, but still get the same effect!). However, when it comes to gloss coating, I do seem to get a fairly even coat using the 0.3 which due to the problems with the 0.5 has to do everything including priming using their own primer which they recommend a 0.4 or above - so working 0.5 would be ideal! I can't help with your problem I'm afraid. I don't suppose that you are on FB at all? They do have a Facebook presence, and when I made enquiries on their recently, they did get back to me quite quickly on another matter.
