  1. I am hoping to start another one soon and hope to do it a little better than my last, going to do Gabresky I think. Ted
  2. the two I mentioned do it as part of the basic range I have used it for many years from them. Ted
  3. Mike the Model shop 4D at aldgate sell stuff like that and it is also available from EMA Plastruct at teddington, both are on line. They both sell all sizes and mostly in 3ft lengths. Ted
  4. Sorry Nige, I remember chatting to someone but I was unsure who it was, hope it helped a little bit. Ted
  5. Mish those canopies are big enough to hand paint the insides by hand so don't worry it looks great from here. The 105 is one of my favourites i have at least three of that kit and one or two in 1/72 Ted
  6. the only problem here is that you have fitted the rear on at the wrong angle, that large hole at the side should be on top to connect to the pipe above. here is my review of the kit if you are interested, http://tedtaylor.hobbyvista.com/134-vintag...7/page-134.html Ted
  7. If you are going to show it stowed I think it should be deflated first but you might need to check that. Ted
  8. Buying Humbrol thinners is an expensive way of buying White spirit, try B&Q they do litre bottles for a couple of Quid and it is exactly the same thing. I use this all the time on enamets of any brand as it is the proper solvent for any enamels paint. Ted
  9. Mike it is a rear facing camera bay and if you look at my review on it you can see what it looks like , if you have a Hasegawa lanc anywhere the part you need is included in that kit. http://tedtaylor.hobbyvista.com/132-revell...r/page-132.html Ted
  10. Thanks Guys glad you liked it, still got a bit to do, with canopies to be fitted properly and guns to be mounted etc. etc. will photograph it fully next weekend and then it will be ion Hannants shop displa cabinet if you're in take a peek. Tony, not sure if the sheet is still available now as I borrowed the signs from a pal. Ted
  11. It won't be long now, just waiting to finish the seat straps and guns. Canopies are only tacked on for painting camo. Basic painting With the engine nacelles cockpit view decals on with Klear coating matted down and awaitng final touches. Swastikas come from the Extra decal sheet. nearly finished just got to finish the canopies and guns etc. will finish this weekend with luck
  12. Stick small pieces, cocktail stick to mark out edges, then trim
  13. All the basics done now, canopy on with PVA glue while spraying will be fixed permanantly later. Now the underside is sprayed and masked ready for the top colours tomorrow.
  14. I have built three of them and they just ain't that bad have a look at my site review. http://tedtaylor.hobbyvista.com/34-airfix-...er/page-34.html Ted
  15. Hi Spence, that looks good mate, what did you use for seat belts as those look very nice?. I am ready for spraying this morning but I found the intrument panel section across the cockpit would not seat properly without some trimming of the sides of the cockpit wall at the point of entry, let me know if you find the same. Ted
  16. I decided to build this up before I started the Dragon Me 110. This seems to be an excellent kit especially in the cockpit area with many tiny details included. the kit fits together quite nicely but there are no engines in the cowlings and no bomb bays depicted. The control surfaces on the wings are separate items but not movable where as the elevators are and the rudder can be posed in a displaced position. The cockpit main instrument panel has some moulded rings on it but no detail or decals so I have used the instrument decals from MDC who also make seat straps from brass to further enhance a very nice cockpit. more to follow
  17. No I wasn't being ironic, it was just sound advice to a novice modeller. I think every novice should extend their talents by taking on a challenge like this, it is surprising what you can achieve when you are brave enough to try. I took that step many years ago when I got awfully brave and started a Vacform kit, not something you do hastily, i was very pleased with myself when it was done and people said it looked good. I know I said a week to do the '79 but that is a full days work each day from an experienced modeller who has deadlines to meet, translate that into evenings and it probably equates to two months for the average modeller who has to work for a living. Ted
  18. it is not too difficult and you should be able to make a decent model out of the kit, just take your time. Ted
  19. yes try my site http://tedtaylor.hobbyvista.com/14-trumpet...79/page-14.html Ted
  20. Got to admit that looks pretty good Neil, well done as usual. Ted
  21. Count me in please I have a scimitar I would like to start
  22. Hi Pete, nice to see another Actros being built, can I make a suggestion? When you take photos try to take them on a clear bit of bench or light background as it is hard to make out the model from the junk in the background, I am sure you will appreciate the photos more and so will we, hope that doesn't offend you mate. Ted
  23. Can you not see how far the wheel is away from the nacelle bottom edge and unless my eyes deceive me the wheel is below the door edge, take a look at a good side view Ted
  24. look at pics of the real thing and you will see that the wheel is well below the doors even the mudguard is below but the kit wheel is almost up to the nacelle, wait till you have built one and then let us know whether it is acceptable. Ted
