  1. So its the eduard Brassin set I want. Thanks for all your help. Drem.
  2. And all I wanted to know was what colour the radio was................................. Seriously, very interesting. And a wee note to add to this. On the remains of the Spitfire we excavated last year, parts of the seat showed signs of it having been painted Interior Green. More likely a dash paint job methinks. So, the aircraft crashed on 16th jan, 1943, is it likely she would have been fitted with the later type of radio. We could find no parts from this so a lot of it is purely guess work.
  3. Cheers for that. Some of the kits I have seen done, have had this item in Brick Red or Brown.
  4. Hello all, If anybody is still following this thread, would you have any idea as to what colour the early radios were on Spitfires. Am interested in The CMK set. Some of them I have seen in a dark brown and others in black. Any ideas?
  5. Thanks for that. Spitfire Vb I am planning to do crashed in January of 1943. I suppose I should be looking at the later radio set then?
  6. Thank you both. I also picked up the CMK version which I presume is the earlier type when you look at them both. May well have to mix and match (Probably going for the earlier type radio with the eduard extras. Not desert scheme have to mention. Eduard set arrives with a tray for the radio as welool, do you think this may have applied to the early version as well. Just want to say that I have tried looking for sites regards all this info so its not laziness thats got me asking.
  7. Hello all, Just picked up The eduard 1/48 Radio compartment which I intend to use on The Tamiya Vb kit. Any body know if I could still use the eduard radio or will I have to change that?
  8. You could try A2ZEE Models. They have loads of different choices of masks. Have used them before and have always found them to be really good.
  9. Thanks all. A few things taken in and lessons to be learned. Much appreciated.
  10. Thanks for all the help. The indicators are a problem but I will probably add them all the same from an interest point. Another question. Regards the "No Walk" lines on the wings, should I lay the decal for these over the roundel or under or is this another one of those yes or no questions. Not being an experienced modeller, the decals I use will simply be Micro solled/Set down and that will be it. Thanks again.
  11. Thanks, Some of the instructions are a bit confusing. Will have to go along with what looks right to me I think. Serious doubts about the gas patches though so they are off. Thanks for the help.
  12. Hello all, Just had the above arrive today and I was wondering if anybody has used these and what they thought of them. Have my doubts about the placing of some of them particularly the gas patch on the Vb. Shurely shome mishtake?
  13. Thats great, thank you very much.
  14. Hello all, Wondering if anybody can help. Am about to start on the Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire Vb soon when I noticed the Airwaves Spitfire Mk V C wing set on The Hannants Web site. Question............. If I were to use this, would I still be building a Mk Vb and what is better about this resin set compared with the Tamiya set in the kit. Ta in advance. Drem.
  15. Hello all. Not long till starting on another Tamiya Spit Vb, but a question regards the undercarraige up/down indicators on the wing(s) Any idea if these were fitted to all Vbs (I suppose they would be but someone please put my troubled brow at rest), ta.

    MPM

Anybody know when the new MPM 1/72 Chesapeake will be due?
  18. That helps a lot, thanks. Now have a pic of the battery and where it was placed ta. Just out of sheer curiosity, wonder if anybody has added the radio box to a Spit and if so what resin did you use. There are a couple of sets on the market but I was wondering if the new Eduard one could be used for the tamiya Spit Vb (1/48).
  19. Hi all, Wondering if anybody has used the Czech Masters Resin Radio Compartment on The Tamiya 1/48 Spit Vb and how did you get on with it. Also, would it be possible to use the new Eduard Radio Compartment on this kit.
  20. Thank you for both thoughts. Much appreciated. Drem.
  21. Hi all, Wonder if somebody can help me out with a couple of queeries. Re The Aries 1/48 resin Cockpit for The Tamiya Spitfire Vb. I have noticed behind the pilots seat, a box opposite the oxygen bottle. Any ideas if this is meant to be a radio or a battery. Am also thinking about adding a resin radio compartment to the fuselage. Can anybody tell me what would be the best way to get round painting the hatch and decaling it. Hope this all makes sence. Ta. Drem.
  22. Thanks.................................. There was me thinking it would be an easy trip too. Even on The Trumpeter, there seems to be an awfy lot of work. Honest opinion, you would go with The Alleycat?
  23. Thanks for that. I actualy want to build it as a Mk5 because paying around £40 for the resin versions is a bit pricey. Care to expand a wee bit on the faults please. As long as there is nothing to bad, will be going along with this kit.
