  1. Would like to join this one with yet another tamiya 1/48 mustang. In RAF colours this time. Had this one in the last mustang group build but only got as far as very little assembly of the radio box etc. Hope this still qualifies.
  2. Far from perfect Pat but at least I will have had fun building it. Not going to do much to it at all just do the best I can with my limited abilities. A little sanding and some rescribing is all I have done. Hopefully get the silver paint down tonight. After that is all about the landing gear and a little weathering. Oh and the yellow training paint to top off.
  3. This one isnt too bad except for the lack of detail and some of the fit. Needed quite a bit shaved of the back of the trailing edges. Also the entire front and rear of the wings needed sanded into position after it was glued.
  4. So here goes for a little update. First I had to paint the cockpit what little there was of it so cockpit green it was. Because the seat was lower than expected and wasnt exactly in a scale position I left the cockpit bare. Hoping that the outside of the model would be enough to draw attention from the poor cockpit. Anyhow some pics. Some of the scribing I have done on the cowl Some fitting views. And heres where we are at. Ready for paint.
  5. Thanks guys. One other down point was the complete lack of panel lines on the cowl. It was just a big plastic plug. So my first ever attemp at scribing. Needless to say without the proper tools they are too big and messy. Must get myself a proper scribe. Pics later. But I am happy with it.
  6. For what its worth this will be my build. Pretty simple little build nothing fancy but not much detail so might need to do some panel scribing on this one. Complete new activity in my modeling history. Will need lots of tips. Have fun guys.
  7. Silver scheme with yellow bands as it is intended. Going to be an oob build.
  8. Looking to take part in this build with the academy 1/100 F14. Looking forward to it.
  9. Is there time to jump onto this GB. I was thinking I could do the 1/72 PM Models T20 Sea Fury. Sorry to be late into the build but only just noticed it here. Is this ok.
  10. Buying new modelling stock.

  11. Thats a good idea. I will contact him and see if the pics are good enough and interesting enough. I will also post a few more general pics here just now for the mean time.
  12. Just wondering if anyone is doing a Fulmar model at the moment. I found myself waiting for my other half while she was at the toliet. While we were in the Fleet Air Arm Museum. I just happened to be standing next to the Fulmar and was messing around with lots of photos on my phone. I ended up taking loads of the wing fold and undercarriage bay. Including the oleo leg, leg data plate and wheel bays. As well as some more general views. Just wonder if there was any interest in seeing these or not. Just let me know and I will try and post them tommorrow.
  13. I wondered when someone would pick up on that. The artist who did the painting does not generally do aviation art and may have not understood the complexity of aircraft codes. In other words he did this painting for us and for nothing. So dont mess with my father in law. In fairness I think this was the reason and doesnt really detract from the wonderful painting that it is. This painting was done partly in Scotland and partly in Malta. Plenty of aviation history from both these places.
  14. Just thought would share a photo of the model that Drem, a Britmodeller member, did for our exhibition of the recovered remains of AR403. Also here is a pic of the painting done to help raise funds. In donations and raffle tickets we made just under £300 towards the memorial. Long way to go but we will keep at it.
