  1. NF11 FR9 (which may need re-painting in lieu of recent findings!!!!) F8
  2. I used SnJ years ago, and still have the powder. I found it greatly superior to any available "metal" paint then, not too sure now, as I think ALCLAD may have the edge.....
  3. I'm hooked on my Badger 200, its cheap and spare parts are easily available (and like Drewe says -a real "Triggers broomstick!".) I had a lot of trouble when I switched from enamel's (mostly Humbrol & Xtracolour) to Acrylic's. Acrylic's dry so damn qiockly (ok on models - not ok in airbrush!). And of course the biggest challenge is keping them spotlessly clean. The first time I attempted to use ALCLAD was a disaster. It sprayed for 2.5 second then clogged up. The ALCLAD stripped off all of the residue of Acrylic paint that I thought I'd cleaned out. As a further note - In the shop I sell on average maybe Two Badger 200's a month, not bad for a small shop I suppose. And will allways recommend this as an "entry level" airbrush. I do though fancy a Dual Acton airbrush next and maybe I'll go for the 150 , and use my 200 for ALCLAD only...... But to answer your question Mike, no problems at all other than those I've sell inflicted upon myself...
  4. Calum/Mike, Both of those were painted in Halford's Aluminium! I too was a "chicken" with regards to BMF finishes until I came across Halfords!! It dries in nano-seconds and can be masked - I simply sprayed a mist of SnJ (I think) or maybe even Metalcoat on certain panels... For my next "Silver machine" I'm going to attempt using Halfords and Alclad........That Alclad is the bees dangly bits (or should that be the dogs knees!!!)
  5. Blimey Gary...1999!!!! As long ago as that!!! I must get around to doing "Part III- The Mk 3" Soon...............
  6. I managed to finish models....... My 1/48th F1a was reduced to spares some time ago - following a very heavy landing.....:-( The T4 is still intact, though the decals have yellowed now :-(
  7. Always a treat to see Neil's aircraft on the Barnet(?) stand at show's...very impressive and very inspirational!!!! Excellent stuff!
  8. Yes, just seen your thread!! (Actually - the kit itself doesn't look that bad - it certainly looks good when built!)
  9. Its 1/48th Nev, pre-ceeded Airfix's Brick by a few years!
  10. Little wonder you forgot Lenny - it was FIVE years ago after all
  11. Just a small selection of photo's that I've scanned..... Not the greatest of quality I'm afraid, has been enlarged somewhat!! Tornado F3 of 229OCU at SBAC Farnborough - late 1980's I suppose?
  12. Wine storage Rich?? Wine!! Yummmeeeee!! AND I think a Britmodel(l)er-a-thon is on the card for Kemble this year!!!!
  13. Only on Saturdays! I can't afford his wages the rest of the week!! :whistling:

  17. Yes indeed Edgar, I've been watching Derek's fantastic work on LSP with a great deal of admiration and interest......not good news about using the Matchbox/Revell wings then! Okay, maybe its onto plan (E) wait for the MDC wings....(I know that it will be worth the wait!!!)
  18. Here are a few piccies..... As for decal placements - pretty much of a standard, what were you looking for specifically....
  19. Not a problem Ed, I put the B-57 on E-Bay as the poor cow's been sitting on the shelf , gathering dust...... She could still be on E-Bay in a few weeks; you never know you may well pick up a bargain!! Cheers Bill
  20. Chinese kits.......I have nothing but total repsect for Trumpeter/Hobby Boss.......who-ever. Their products sell! Simple as that. They've bought us products that very few other mainstream manufacturers would touch with a 15' bargepole! The Sea Hawks , Wyverns and Gannets are supebly tooled and are at affordable prices, who'd have predicted a couple of years ago that a mainstream manuacturer would issue them?
  21. Will do Ed - later, interestingly the big "H" list it still as a future release..... BTW, do you still want the B57? Cheers Bill
  22. The FB4's ARE IN!!!! And with really nice XI squadron markings Ed.......(along with 28 Sqn) In fact I managed a nice little "Suez" line up in the shop..... Wyvern, Sea Hawk and the FB4 (shame I didn't have the CA Canberra B2 or their Meteor NF13 to go with them..................)
