  1. Past hour
  2. Love those old vacforms! How hopeful to include the propeller, did anyone ever use the kit vacform prop?!! Watching with interest. Looking forward to your next updates. Malc.
  3. Manuals have been known to be wrong. This is not a definite proof, just an indication,
  4. That is alsolutely stunning. I would also like to know more about the magnets.
  5. So a little update Eyes Left! Eyes Right! Eyes Front! Eyes Rear! Hang on, that's not right. About Turn! And a couple of size comparison shots. First a TSR.2 And with a late WWII fighter The paint I am using is HATAKA Blue for the hairy stick. The colours are Dk Green B143, DK Sea Grey B144 and Lt Aircraft Grey B217 although the Dk Sea Grey has yet to be applied and only one coat of the Green has been added. That was mainly just to flesh out where the paint was to go with my interpretation of the camouflage given in the instructions. Still loads to do, I hope to get the seats almost finished today so hopefully they will be going into the tub tomorrow. That has just reminded me that I better do some work on the canopy Gondor
  6. Cheers Alistair you won`t have to wait any longer. Thanks @Chuck1945, @dogsbody, @CH-53D, @Hamden, @elger, @Stew Dapple and @cobraleader. Well folks she is together, fuselage that is. A few seams to see too, but that is what I expected. The only thing I did not put in was the Nav`s seat, warped to heck. I hope that you are enjoying the sunshine folks. Simon.
  7. Today
  8. Thanks, and yes it's all sorted, just time pressure balancing a job and a 2 year old, plus dealing with a gastro bug that wiped out everyone in the house other than myself for a week or so. Nothing serious, but enough picking up the slack to leave one tired enough to struggle concentrating on detailed model parts for a bit.
  9. Best image I can find is this one There is a review of the sheet giving physical description of each profile and comments about validity. http://vvs.hobbyvista.com/Markings/Decals/fighters_part01.html
  10. I do like the idea of window outlines being shown in scale in the instructions. This is a great alternative to aftermarket masks, since they are templates for making one’s own. Would love to see this feature in more kits, whatever the manufacturer.
  11. Another excellent result Alistair, looks like you need a bigger Photo Booth 😁 Mike
  12. Giampiero………your attention to detail remains second to none. A superb rendition of the Komet. Mike
  13. I know that this Dragon kit “likes to fight back” as I tried with no success. Thank goodness for the Academy / Italeri Lightning in 72nd scale. This one should be in a museum with a special award included. A masterpiece of the highest level. Mike
  14. Superb results Hans. Your skills are quite evident. This is one to be proud of. Very nice!!! Mike
  15. Welcome Alan. I had already post a Catalina, a SBD, 2 Corsair, a P40. A few Spitfire on ETO color. And more to come in a nearest futur. Another Spit, a Ventura, a Corsair. And more in a the futur. Alain
  16. Hi Chris, I've only just noticed this thread. It might be worth contacting @Back in the Saddle. He has done a whole series of World Tail models, mostly flights of fancy, and is clearly well geared-up for printing his own decals. Maybe he would be able to help. Dave G
  17. Like you I think it’s red as well like the backdrop behind the pinup and the lower cowl flap. On the close-up photo, one can discern the thin darker (black?) outline of the extended leg on the slightly lighter background. Fascinating discussion. Obviously Thierry Dekker never disappoints.🫡
  18. Thankfully you noticed this early enough and didn’t put your airbrush or model into trouble ! 😅 According to http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?/topic/315518-using-ak-real-colors-for-the-first-time-what-do-i-need-to-know/ a.o., the RC series actually require a lacquer thinner. AK have a specific thinner for RC - that may be why ? https://ak-interactive.com/product-category/paints/ak-real-colors/real-colors-ak-interactive-thinner/ (no shares owned ! 😀)
  19. I think he meant this one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164982726530
  20. https://www.airhistory.net/photo/198494/00-3003/AF00-3003 Probably he upper "gear" is closer... at least the teeth I suggest to get search for photos and then decide! Maybe even mixing the decals might make sense!
