  2. Like you I think it’s red as well like the backdrop behind the pinup and the lower cowl flap. On the close-up photo, one can discern the thin darker (black?) outline of the extended leg on the slightly lighter background. Fascinating discussion. Obviously Thierry Dekker never disappoints.🫡
  3. Did you look at F-DCAL website? https://www.f-dcal.fr/decals/index.php?id_category=13&controller=category&id_lang=1
  4. Thankfully you noticed this early enough and didn’t put your airbrush or model into trouble ! 😅 According to http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?/topic/315518-using-ak-real-colors-for-the-first-time-what-do-i-need-to-know/ a.o., the RC series actually require a lacquer thinner. AK have a specific thinner for RC - that may be why ? https://ak-interactive.com/product-category/paints/ak-real-colors/real-colors-ak-interactive-thinner/ (no shares owned ! 😀)

  6. How do the magnets work on this outstanding model
  7. Looking very good so far! This is still a very good kit. The Cockpit is really an eye-catcher, do you plan to keep the canopy open? Lutz

  9. As usual, the answer used to be a set by Part of Poland, which also has the fairings that are otherwise very hard to recreate where the axle meets the undercarriage vees. I got mine 15 or so years ago from the former Luchtvaart Hobbyshop. at very reasonable prices (5 or 6 Euros a throw). I did a Nie. 11 earlier and spent some quality time filing a cutout in the windscreen, thinning it down, and restoring the top with a bit of stretched sprue. Then white glue for the transparent bit. Doesn't look great but better than it was. I still have a few Toko kits in the stash, and they are cruse compared to the later incarnation of the company (Roden), with decals just as awful, but at the time were regarded as pretty damn good. Anyway, your alternative back then was scratchbuilding or converting a Revell 17. I'm not sure but don't think KP have the rights to the Toko toolings. Also don't know if CMR ever did one, which the would have the rights to. The only kits I know of are very crude and early HR resins, although these days I don't trust my memory to guide me out of the house, so I may be wrong. If KP did do one, I'd hope as usual that they'd get their A team on the colour schemes and deal performance/design, but even the terrible ones I've had from their other WWI kits would at least in this case be an improvement on Toko, which were inflexible and shattered like badly stored old decals even when brand new. Worth keeping an eye out for second hand Roseplane accesories. They did resin cowlings and U/C legs which were quite good, and the legs I have for the Revell 28 haven't warped yet, and an 11 or 16 doesn't weigh a lot. Paul.

  11. My choice would be an Airfix Gloster Meteor F.Mk.8 or Blackburn Buccaneer (both new moulds). You need to take care with Tamiya 1:72 scale kits since many of them are actually re-boxed Italeri kits, most of which do not enjoy the same level of detail or fit as the afoermentioned F-4D Skyray or the ME Bf-109G-6 that you have already built, which are original Tamiya moulds.
  12. They've served me well, up to now, if they were good enough for cousin Otto then they're good enough for me...satellite navigation is a fantasy down there, eliciting gasps of wonderment from the great unwashed. Mind you, crawling around at 20mph in the jalopy didn't exactly help, although even at that speed I was accused by one local, brandishing a huge red flag, of driving like a 'ruddy gwallgofddyn' (look it up). I took exception so I ran him over. With honour restored we left shortly after
  13. Interesting way to present your work, very comfortable to follow!
  14. Hi, I have the Italeri LA 5FN kit which I did some almost 50 years ago in the OOB livery, so the green/brown colors. Now it is known, that those colors are false. I want to do some repaint work which will destroy the decals. From the same time I have a part of the ESCI decal set for Lavochkin, however I cannot find the profile (instruction) for it. The decals are in good condition, as the decals for Brazilian P47 were, which I did few weeks ago. The decals contain some Rissian inscription, so it makes them attractive. I would like to ask two questions on them: 1. Does anybody have the instruction sheet (color profiles) for this set? (I did not found it in NET) 2. Are they reliable concerning the modern knowledge of them? If not - how it should look like? Regards J-W
  15. Something like that.... When a pilot landed on another carrier than the one he is assigned to... The mech take care of the aircraft ..... Sincerely. CC
  16. Armycast decals from Czechia are due to release a new sheet on the A-4/TA-4 Skyhawk very shortly, which includes markings for a RMAF example.
  17. One figure as example what you can find in this archive. So we have drawings showing the shapes of French WW2 bombs with dimensions! In last few years I constructed series of French models and in I think all of kits (of bombers) there was no such element included. I am sure that there is a room for an aftermarket set "French WW2 bombs set" in 1/72, 1/48 and perhaps 1/32 as well.... Regards J-W
  18. Looking good. I think, it was looking a little 'flat' until you applied the weathering/panel wash accentuation. Now it's looking used. Colin
  19. Superb job, very pleasing to the eye 👍 Colours look spot on to me, congratulations on a smashing build and your pictures do it justice too. What's next? 🤔 .Watto
  20. Thanks Serkan - good to hear the opinion of someone that clearly has a lot of experience with these machines 👍
  21. Yes I totally agree, that is a gorgeous Brit Phantom build...love all the extra details you have added. Beautiful finish etc Cheers Anthony
  22. There is a two seat Hurricane flying and it’s not as easily distinguishable from the single seater as a Spitfire two seater is, perhaps it’s that. Talking to one of our French friends yesterday who tells me that the Armée de L’Air is training Ukrainian pilots which could account for the recent increase in PC-21s around here.
  23. Same. It's easier to add rivets than fill them!
  24. This looks so good in every way - which makes me think your height adjustment was the correct thing to do. Your canopy masking is top-notch. I’ve had misgivings about that method, but perhaps I should try it again sometime. Extremely well done! 👏👏👍👍
