  1. Past hour
  2. I think what amazes me is how much the different wheels change the whole appearance of the truck. Personally I would have said that the original was too good to mess with, and yet you appear to have improved it in your rebuild.
  3. Always a reliefe when all four wheels sit straight and true both on the ground and in their arches as here. Excellent work in the engine bay too - I have to admire people who can create things like that.
  4. Supposedly, Duncan Jones is currently making a CGI version of Rogue Trooper. I'll be interested to see where he takes that one. There is huge potential in the storyline. Cheers. Chris.
  5. Primed and a coat of SCC15 Olive Drab applied. I use Hataka's acrylic SCC15 as to my eyes it is a good match to the samples I have straight from the bottle. I don't think it is the easiest paint to work with, it can clog the airbrush if used without flow improver, but the end result looks good. The Dingo has so many hollows, nooks and crannies painting it takes time and an airbrush isn't always the best tool for getting paint where it needs to go. I will look at it again tomorrow in daylight and see what needs touching up. Thankfully my careful masking worked no paint leaked through into the cabin. The Vickers gun is primed and I have started on the stowage as well. I am off to Tiger Day at Bovington Tank Museum this weekend and the timetable says they have a Dingo running. I will try and take it home some pictures when I'm there. I have a large collection of photos already but seeing how real vehicles get muddy is always interesting.
  6. btw....as looked at your heli build and Florys. This dingy dirt i did were infact with florys, very very forgiving, fine tip brush and water, and adjust until pleased. Also another tip, you can run Florys thru AB aswell (make shure diluted and test on scrap), and then streakn wit a brush, its crazy versitale medium...and yes as they are clay based as real deal dirt
  7. Looks great! Excellent mottling. Charlie
  8. Excellent work Adrian, as always. The thickness of that (original) turret transparency is simply incredible. Regards, Charlie
  9. Just acquired this kit from Jadlam for £24.99 also have the Rareplanes kit up in the loft
  10. I've just seen a YouTube video of a 1:1 scale Class 40 loco being manoeuvred into the hall for display! I'll be there on the West Midlands Police Scale Model Club's stand. That's a club of present and past WMP employees, not people who model WMP's equipment!
  11. Well there goes my resolution to resist… And I’ll need some overtrees too…
  12. This is how XM844 looked on 1 May 1963; Reduced resolution copy of photo from Google. No copyright claimed. Will be removed if requested. A very useful photo as the positions of the markings vary from the Xtradecal guide. Hopefully the decals are in roughly the right locations. The black and white rectangles on the fuselage spine (what are they?) gave all sorts of grief. Initially I used the FROG decals but then noticed that on the real Wessex they got wider further up the fuselage. They came off with a long soak. A hunt through the decal stash brought up Modeldecal set 99 which has these markings. They looked perfect. But Modeldecal use some strange decal adhesive that leaves a milky white deposit. Off they came and cleaned them. By this time they were beginning to break up. Carefully re-applied but it was obvious they weren't going to stick. Lifted very carefully and Klear (Revive, Future) fed underneath. They settled down OK - 3rd time lucky! The large 02 on the nose needed shaping to the nose profile. A job for Microsol. But... I'd given the model a coat of Klear to help with the decals (it's a glossy Wessex anyway) forgetting that Microsol turns Klear white and cloudy! Arrrhhhggg!!! Decal hastily removed (I managed to save it) and cleaned off the cloudy Klear with isopropyl alcohol. Luckily very little damage to the underlying enamel paint. The white splodge on the lower windscreen is Milliput. The screen was way off fitting the fuselage. Only recently discovered (by me), Milliput is great. Still a lot to do, but getting there. Cheers, Charlie
  13. Guess it was only a matter of time... https://www.janes.com/defence-news/news-detail/general-atomics-tests-podded-guns-on-mojave-uav#:~:text=GA-ASI mounted two Dillon,%2C according to GA-ASI.
  14. I will heartily recommend ARMYCAST decals, with two caveats: First, do NOT leave them in the water for more than a few seconds, all you need to do is dip them and then lay them on some paper towel while you swab the model with setting solution. Second, the film is scarily thin, take care when placing them, I almost had a disaster with the port side 455. But that thin film means that they settle down superbly. They're also responsible for a possibly debilitating financial outlay in the future, because now I have the rest of the sheet for various 1/48th P-47 Thunderbolts, and I really need to use them on some other whiffs. ;D
  15. I would consider either side acceptable, Madagascar is in the region. If memory serves the British took the island to prevent the German and Japanese navies from using it. Mostly as a submarine base amongst other reasons.
  16. If it's a Mk.V with the internal armour windscreen then yes, the canopies are the same. The problem is that model companies seem to have very different ideas on what the size of a Spitfire canopy should be! If both kits are Eduard it should not be a problem (in theory...) but if they are from different manufacturers you can expect everything
  17. After the issues with the front canopy I ordered a replacement from the Hobby co on Tuesday at 3pm- it arrived tis morning so pretty good service. Its been fitted and painted up and a bit better than the first attempt. Weathering up on the underside has begun, just black and brown oil at the moment. Enjoy
  18. Nice work so far. Looks like quite a challenging kit. I don't know how you would feel about adding a couple of 1mm card slices to the nose - that would make the nose a bit too long but at that slope it would get down to the right diameter? I've built a couple of Letovs from KP kits - one of them had so much flash it felt like a vacform Nice loco too. Regards, Adrian
  19. Well, there's times when you have to push your own skills, right? Nothing in my not-a-stash stash, but I'm up for something different! Keith 😁
  20. Arma-models might be even more interesting. Similar spec (decals, rotor etc), but also gives access to 3d printed landing gear and gun with some discount if you buy the kit... https://arma-models.ru/catalog/predzakaz/4830_rossiyskiy_udarnyy_vertolet_ka_52_alligator/
