Jeff, you got me thinking. We never know for sure. It’s crazy, but why do we care? We could just pick a color. I mean what the hell? No one (or very few alive in this case) could really gainsay our choice. Yet we modelers want to get it right. Why? It just seems important and fitting—almost an homage. Good Lord. Who cares whether the Hood’s anti-fouling paint was red or black? We do. Now., about Arizona’s topside color at Pearl Harbor . . . Best, Jeff

Dear modeller friends, While getting ready for the painting stage of my 1/48 MiniArt, I stumbled on these diagonal lines on quite a few of P-47 pics. I’ve seen these before on P-51 though never on T-bolts. Can you tell me what was the purpose of these lines? Did it have something to do with ground attack? Thank you for your input. Cheers, Quang

I remember them getting a bit huffy when that was said about the Ventura. They released pictures of the, beryllium I think, hobs that were used to make the mould cavities. I don't think anyone was arguing that they had used the FROG moulds though. John

After chasing a possum from the house this morning, fun times that. Poor bugger fell down the chimney and couldn't get out. I have been chipping away at the little mech. I need to take a break as my eyes and will to live are going. No it's not that bad I just find I have only a limited amount of imagination and after a bit all my chips look much the same. I'm not good at this kind of weathering so this is good practice. I think he at least look good on his base. Lots more stains and grime planed but he's looking a bit more lived in. Hello CorsairF4U Very interesting photo! It is such a pity that it's in the backlight & cannot be investigated more precisely. Do you know if the color of the overspray was dark blue or black? Do you know what #10 in the foreground has under the windshield? Except -5Ns that few were black, do you know if there any -2s that were completely painted in black?

Unfortunately, you are not right in one case, Piotr. Nowadays, Limited Edition is a simple dual pack with the same extras as ProfiPack. However, in the past it was as you described - filled with extras like resin. Recent Limited Edition have no extras apart from PE. I think the best Limited, that has been relesaed in a last few years, was Tempest Mk.II with a great book.
