What is the quickest and easiest way in which to tidy up tyres. The tyres on my F1 Renault have a rather prominent seam all around the centre of the tread. As they are slicks, I suppose some form of sanding will do the trick, but is there any 'special' tips or tricks around this?

Well I suppose take it to about 12,000 rpm, then sideslip the clutch...

i can tell you how i do mine.
Make a mandril, i found that a 13 mm socket with a bolt through the middle with a nut to hold in place ,this can then be put in a cordless drill slide the tyres on the socket run drill sand tyres gives em that bin round the track look. good eh.

To get rid of the seam on rubber tyres, I generally use a fairly coarse grade of wet 'n dry on them, with plenty of water to stop the rubber 'picking up'. Usually works.
