Hi

Glossy black when brand spanking new then a sort of dull grey/black once used.

As said before they are black and as soon as they are fitted and touch the ground they go dull and don't forget the chips and chunks that are taken out of them when used.

Small point of detail: they're never actually black. The material is rubber so it's a very deep grey, in much the same way as tyres on a black car stand out as not being black. I use Panzer Grey as a starting point for rubber (although I've yet to work out what to do with a Panzer Grey tank...).

It does, but with the appropriate weathering, it soon loses it and becomes straight grey.

Couple of pics - pad colour will depend how worn/porous the pads have become and what the tanks been running on.

Revell Aqua Colour "Anthrazit" is a good colour for this. It is a very very dark grey that allows you to use black for depth.

It can be brush painted or sprayed 50/50 paint to water, in thin coats. It is also a good panel wash when thinned because it isn't as stark as black.
