Shelled out £14 quid for this on Friday What a dissapointment!

It has obviously not been proof read correctly, loads of typo's, repeats, basic errors, (at one point says how good the Gnat was to fly!) incorrectly labelled Pictures, (a Jet Provost instrument panel with Gunsights!!?) and basic ommissions, (Would it not be simple to mention at some point that the Strikemaster was fitted with internal machine guns under the intakes?).

This book, with a bit more attention to detail, could of been so very much better.

I 've found similar lack of proof reading in other tiltes of the series. I, too, have been disappointed with warpaint. Not all but some. To the editor of the series.. must do better!!

i know naff all about the airfraft i like, but i like (d, when i could in those days afford it) and i used to get some of his, but i noticed mistakes....and they must have been really bad for me to pick up.

now i have the matchbx n airfix kits and a lot of aftermarket bits sat here for at least years waiting for good reference to to do them justice. and this is a wasted opertunity by the sounds of it. would have been a nice BD present to myself. as its one aircraft i dont have a single book on

The Warpaint series seems to come in for a poor press on here on a regular basis. Apart from the typos (which are annoying), are there any technical or misleading errors in the text and photos?

The Harrier one was full of them.

The series has deteriorated since Alan W Hall died.

The Harrier was bad but conversely the Sea Harrier was excellent as you would expect being written by Tony Buttler. Strong editorship is something lacking from not only Warpaint but plenty of other a/c books that are put out by small publishing concerns with there limited resources.

I did note that the additional strakes on the T5A beneath and to the side of the intakes were missing from the plans and profiles. However we all know that any plans always have a few errors and making your own judgements is part of the hobby. To be honest I will always buy Warpaint for the a/c that appeal to me as the prolific number of profiles is a constant source of inspiration and carries on the tradition of the best part of old SAM.

To be honest, the last title written by the Master himself was not impressive. I mean the Warpaint n° 67 about the Folland/Hawker Siddeley GNAT and HAL AJEET

Although, being Irish, I loved the story of the Gnat simulator being dellivered to RAF Valley via Dun Laoghaire and Holyhead.
