Hi Jambo,
It all depends on what you want from the kit. If you just want something that looks about right, build it out of the box and you'll have great fun
As Paul H says though, it is a post war version and thats not just because of the intakes: the turret has a number of postwar features and being a 70s mold the detail is a little lacking
If you want I can give you some pointers on what needs doing but I don't want to go into it right now as I know some people aren't as fussed about churchill accuracy as I am and I wouldn't want to look like I'm saying you MUST do this or MUST do that
If you can wait a couple of weeks I have mastered a new set that corrects all the kit faults (there are around twelve significant faults) and improves on the detail.
This includes:
- a whole new turret
- Basic turret interior (including the radio)
- new air intakes (with louvre detail and etched grills)
- a metal 75mm barrel (the kit one is way under scale)
- metal coaxial MG.
- etch fret covering interior details, commanders sight, replacement hatch handles, straps for the oil cans on the rear fenders and more
This set should be around £25
I'll also be releasing a pair of corrected idlers
My interior (I run Inside the Armour) does not work in the Tamiya tank. This is because a) tamiya originally 'motorized the kit' which meant inside the tub bears no relation whatsoever to the real thing and

my kit is for a 6pdr armed MkIII. The MkVII was a major redesign and is significantly different inside
