As stated, has anyone got an opinion of or seen a review of the the AMA-116C? Linky .I did a search here and via Google without much success

I like the look of it and it would seem that the trigger operation is the way to go for those of us who have the refined touch of a blacksmith when it comes to deftness (apologies to any blacksmiths in here... )

I appreciate that these are from China and probably copies of some other brand but, at £35 a pop, I thought I might give it a go.

It's a Fengda BD116AK like This & Chinese as you suspect.

You certainly get plenty for your money, but quality, output & longevity may vary. If you are just "trying out" with airbrushing, it may be worth considering - but if you plan to get into it for the long haul, you may be wiser to have a closer look at the known brands. Harder & Steenbeck, Iwata & Badger (among others) are all quality manufacturers worth considering if you take that route.

It will probably work quite OK, but in my experience, buying cheap isn't the best solution to solve your dexterity problem.
Since the trigger action airbrushes control air and paint in the same movement, the transition between only air, to air and paint mixture needs to be very smooth. If not, you will likely get something like spitting, or uncontrolable bursts of paint.
A fine tuned trigger action airbrush is capable of the same level of detail as any comparable traditional airbrush, but one that isn't can be a nightmare.
£35 is cheap enough to give it a try, and if you find that you like the action type, invest in a high quality brand, like Gunze, Tamiya, Iwata or Grex. I have tried all of these brands, and sell the Grex ones. All are great airbrushes.

Cheap and chearful chinese brush, could be ok.

Have a look at the Grex XA or TG is you want to look at better quality trigger brushes.

Thanks for the replies gents. The H&S Infinity 2in1 is on my "list" for my tribe to buy for me. I thought I'd try out the AMA with the trigger prior to this purchase as I've seen good reports about the Iwata TR series and wanted to give a trigger model a try just to see if it and my stiff, "arthriticy" fingers get on with each other - not an airbrush noob, just wanted to see a review as I didn't want to waste my money on something that I'll never use again (and I'm a tight git...... )

I'll have the Infinity and Evolution on my stand at Telford to try as well, suspect you'll find a trigger brush is easier to use. Also have the TR1 so you can see the difference between it and the Grex brushes.

I tried a cheap Chinese airbrush. It was rubbish! Don't waste your money.

Last year at Telford I bought a H&S Evo from Little Cars. Okay, it was eighty quid or so plus some extra connectors I needed but I've used it constantly ever since and it's a superb bit of kit.

Buy cheap, then you buy twice, then it's not so cheap.

Will you be taking to Telford some of those little cleaning brushes for the Evo? I could probably do with some spare seals especially the paint cup and aircap seal. Can you take some of these too?

Should have a very large bundle of the cleaning brushes and the full range of O rings, needles, nozzles, paint cups, quick release connectors for just about every brush, air hoses etc...
