I got my kit from ebay with all the extra parts from Neil. The bag was sealed so I never took a closer look at it as I knew that it would take some time till I get to build it.
Now that the time has/had come I opened the bag and.......I HAVE TWO LEFT FUSELAGE HALFS RATHER!!!!!! NO RIGHT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!
So I guess I'm out till I get a right fuselage half or a new kit

That's a bit shit, innit? Someone in China must have had a hangover that day.

Give Airfix a call/email & see if they can get you another fuselage half. OR... put a want ad up in here.
If you have to resort to buying another kit though, at least it's pretty cheap

Oh come on! Where's your spirit of adventure! A little bit of scratchbuilding could sort that out...

Not likely!!!!!
Seriously though Alex, that's a real shit! hopefully Airfix can sort you out with a correct half!
Somewhere, sometime, someone else is going to open and a box and...

"oh shit, I've got two right fuselage halves!" Just a shame you can't hook up with 'em.
Karl.

How? I'm still looking.
I'm not sure if Airfix still has a fuselage on stock...They don't even have the Jaguar anymore.
So I would be very thankful if they can't help!

Yup they are - just got out of bed and saw the post.
Alex, if it's the 1/48 Airfix GR3 the starboard fuselage is part number 1 (& the port part number 2).
HTH,

Sorry Alex, I clicked on your post on the main forum page and was confused which kit you were referring to. If I'd have gone through the group build forum I'd have realised it was a Jaguar!! My original post asked which kit.

Well as I've gone to the trouble of finding the kit and switching the home computer on I'll reply anyway. Airfix 1/48 Jaguar GR1A (07104) looking tail to nose right hand fuselage is Part 1. (Other side is Part 2).
Hornby took possesion of all the old spare parts when they bought Airfix, they've inventoried them all so even if the kit is out of production they may well have the part. The spares department pre-Hornby operated by taking replacement parts from stock kits, so they had a stock of kits missing various bits and pieces.

I just hope they have the fuselage. I don't want to by another kit...especially with 100 or more unstarted kits at home! My wife would kill me!!!
Still...In case of a worst case scenario...does someone of you guys know were I could get another Jaguar?

One question or maybe two questions for you guys on the island.
Our company is flying to Stansted. So I could take a free ride with my son and have a nice day.
How far is it to the RAF Museum in London, Hannants or the closest Hobbycraft?
Is there a bus line going to the museum?

RAF Hendon , next door to Hannants-getting to it may not be terribly simple
Looking for a Hobbycraft......
Nearest to Hendon is Greenford , closest to Stanstead is basildon/ Romford
Would suggest ringing them first as no 2 branches have same stock of anything

There's a Express rail link from Stansted to London Liverpool Street station, takes 45 minutes and leaves every 15. From there it will be a question of traveling the underground to Colindale, which is about 10 minutes walk from the museum, Hannants is a further couple of minutes walk up the road.
The undergound bit depends on the time and day and wether there are any works going on. Maybe the whole journey could take 1.5 hours guestimate. There's plenty to see at the museum and there cafeteria there does nice food - plus Spitfire Ale. If you planned a whole day would be worth it.

The only drag is the rail/tuge at least another hour wasted, can't remember if a coach goes from Stanstead to somewhere in Hendon/ Colindale..
