Time to start this one chaps!
As usual I've been researching before making any inroads to the plastic and it's not good news.
The most useful references I've come across so far are the ARC walkarounds so most of this based on the photos in them until such time as I can dig out my Aeroguide.
While the 'pit looks nicely detailed most of it is inaccurate, the side consoles will need striping and re-doing and the instrument panel I'll make from scratch. The former seems to be based on some other aircraft, probably a glider if the lack of throttle is anything to go by. As for the IP, while what is there is close it could be better. The instruments are simply small raised disks and the main moving map display is not tilted and slightly sunk into the main panel as with the real thing. Some detail added to the bare sidewalls and rear bulkhead should finish that bit off.
Oh bloody hell, what have I let myself in for?

I am very keen to see what you do with the Jag's cockpit and any other area of the aircraft you think needs correction/embellishment. I'm looking forward to see how yours turns out; I'm sure that it will be an inspiring effort.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Andrew, unfortunately I'm looking after my local pub for a couple weeks while the landlord gets a much-needed holiday so there's little chance I'll have any modelling time for a while.
Never mind, there's worse jobs in the world especially considering the fact I get to work with some of the hottest waitresses in Scotland and they feed me as well!

Took the chance to start test-fitting the 'pit into the forward fuselage today. After shaving a little off the top of the rear bulkhead it seems to be a nice snug fit. From what I can see there's a slight gap between the instrument panel and the coaming but I'm going to scratch-build a more detailed one anyway so that's no great issue.
