Revell's F-16 is widely regarded as the best available F-16 in 1/72 scale, and this latest boxing represents the MLU version as flown by the Belgian airforce in the always popular 'Tigermeet' livery.

Boxing is the usual Revell affair, flimsy low cost and slightly 'squished' as standard. Most of the contents fit easily inside apart from the decal sheet which is slightly too large - as a result it is wrapped around the contents and appears slightly dog eared in one corner , niggly packing criticism aside this is a very attractive decal sheet that is going to be a real treat to the eye when applied

The kit comes in 3 main sprues, 2 for the airframe and the third for the weapons, and a clear sprue in smoked yellow, my clear parts suffered a little bit of 'rubbing' on the top but nothing a dip in Klear or a rub with a micromesh cloth won't fix, the only reall issue here is that both canopy parts are smoked, modellers wanting a clear forward canopy and smoked rear portion are going to have to look for an alternative clear part.

The main sprues have beaultifully recessed panel lines, no rivets are moulded which is not a big deal in this scale, pilot and cockpit details are crisp and nice, armament sprue is basic with a pair of AIM-9L's and AIM-120 AMRAAMS , and fuel tanks.

One of the particularly well done parts of the kit are the gear bays - crisply detailed and 'busy'

In conclusion this is a very attractive edition of the Revell F-16 kit, the Tigermeet decals add a really exciting option to this kit , and for around a Tenner , you really can't complain.

Highly Recommended.

Nice review. Im glad its not just me that hates the decals bigger than the box problem!

It's possible that I might have dinked the decals when I took them out first off, but they were always going to be curved as they're wider than the box. Not so much a problem when new, but as they age, it could result in cracking, which we all know sucks smile.gif

John,

Thanks for a cracking review, as is well known Im not much of a F-Teeny fan, but the markings on this one are very smart, may well have to add this one to the list as its very very different.

Thanks again thumbsup2.gif
