Entering the combat zone with this fine Italeri kit - we'll see.

This one cost me a fiver from Kit Rescue at Cosford last year, I had been looking for one for ages prior.
And here's what that fiver bought me.

Planning to complete this one in light grey with the squiggly line camo scheme

There was a Spitfire ahead of this project on the runway - but work is now starting.
Photos tomorrow - but cockpit is painted, and airframe is now assembled.

As a fellow Bf110G-4 modeller for the GB, I'll be watching your progress with interest. I started one of the Italeri ones myself a few years ago before deciding to switch my scale to 1/48th, so it never was finished.

A few parts were painted whilst I completed a Spitfire.

I've got leftover etch radar aerials from a Dragon He219A0 model - that I hope to fit to this one.

View of the cockpit.

and the assembled airframe.

Fit is less than good, and there's a big gap visible at the forward edge of the Stdb wing.

Construction has continued over a busy week, engines added since previous photo.

Man- you mayb a superb modeler- but a brave one too becasue that sure is one utter shite kit.

However- Airfix were displaying the sprues for their new 1/72 G-4- and I have to say, it looked a stunner- really it did.

Today I got a tin of Humbrol 127 working superbly with a soft brush cool.gif - and it had been used previously,
so I kept on brushing until both were covered.

I'm very pleased with this.

.. its not that bad surely ? The main area of 'concern' is the canopy, it's completely different for the 'G' model.... Italeri never updated it from their earlier variants...
Mal
Along with your 88 their sure looking good, will it have a mottle or squiggle scheme, how will you apply them by brush?
You are certainly putting me to shame as you are ahead with both of your models both of us having having started at the same time, obviously I need to get off the computer and back to the bench.

I dont think my airbrush would ever behave itself for long enough to let me do micro squiggles like that.... nice work smile.gif

Hi Tim

Looking great and may I ask if you did the squiggles with a pen?? Seems to have worked pretty darn well if so.

May as well confess my sins now pray.gif .
Base colour is Humbrol 127 applied by brush.
Followed by Humbrol Matt Coat - to give the squiggles something to grip.
Squiggles are a grey felt tip pen (Faber-Castell Pitt artist pen) from my local art shop.
This is Indian Ink, so Klear dissolved it. I sealed it with more Matt Coat.
Then Klear to apply decals. Followed by Matt Klear to finish.

Hope you all like it!
