80's metal. Not really renowned for it's manliness or sense of style.

I remember reading an article on them in Kerrang! in 1989, where they joked men on Sunset Strip wanted to biff them up the trademan's because they looked like women.

Nowt so queer as folk....

Dylan, which Whitesnake did you post? My old POS computer won't let me see or open what you posted.

My favorite Whitesnake songs are: Fool for your Loving ( Both the live and studio versions )
Is This Love
Walkin In The Shadow Of The Blues
Here I Go Again

It was the original Fool for your loving (the one before he ruined it with Steve Vai...)

The live version that I have is from the vinyl album " Live.....In The Heart Of the City. "

The Studio version is from a Greatest Hits CD. This one has Steve Vai on it. I don't mind it, but I like the live one better. I've had that album since the early 80's. It was my first Whitesnake album.

I saw Whitesnake with the "original" line-up at the Glasgow Apollo in December 1982, supported by Samson. I still have the programme somewhere. Whitesnake were always a bit tame for me to be honest.

Happy days at the Glasgow Apollo
1st May 1982 Status Quo
5th June 1982 Girlschool and Raven
8th Oct 1982 AC/DC with Y&T
6th Nov 1982 Gillan and Spider
2nd Dec 1982 Michael Schenker and Vandenberg
20th Dec 1982 Whitesnake and Samson

Strangely enough I was actually born under a bad sign. wicked.gif

I had a mate once who used to play bass for Tobruk- does that get me brownie points?

I have to admit that "Saints and Sinners" and "Slide it In" are regularly played in my house, when the missus is out.

Having said that , since I listened to Electric Six I find it very hard to take any "rock" seriously at all. Which is a shame because I want to. guitar.gif

Whitesnake?? YUCK!! Never liked them except for Tawny Kittane before she went crazy.

I give you the real gods of 80's rock......Motley Crue!!

Does that mean you are an E6 fan then?

I certainly am/was. Saw them twice before they split and realigned with new members. Funny thing was- I have been a fan of EARLY Roxy Music since 1972, and they did a live version of Street Life that was better than the original.

I certainly am Mental - saw them in Islington in December. The first band in ages I have wanted to see live. Have got all six of their albums and played them to death in the run up to the gig. Havn't laughed so much at anyones lyrics since I listened to The Macc Lads for the first time as a lad!!

Whilst at Lincoln tech College circa the late the '70s I helped Whitesnake carry their gear up to refectory before a gig. Didn't see the show as I really detest that sort of music, but will help anybody.

Glad to hear they are going strong! I saw them around the time just before they released Gay Bar. Once in Cambridge and once at Shepherd's Bush Empire.
