Hi Everyone. I have decided to enter my first group build with this rather fine Fujimi kit. I will be completing it in the 1967 Le Mans colours in which it finished 3rd. One of my all time favourite shapes!

Very little to clean up, just a touch of filler around the wing mirrors, now onto the spraying! MODeller

I'll be watching this closely for any tips - I've got the same boxing in one loft or another.

The body is now out of the sprayshop. After priming, 3 coats of Revell Aqua Ferrari Red were applied and then cut back with 3000 wet and dry (wet). I then thinned even further about 50% and put a few more coats on but did not get the"show" finish I was looking for. I then made up a mix of 2 gloss varnish to 1 of red, thinned to 50% again and misted a few coats on, once this had cured for around 15 mins I then sprayed a heavier layer on watching very closely that no runs developed. A rather different technique than the one I used for enamels but it has worked well.

Yes that is a 250 GTO (Italeri) in the last photo, started at the same time but there seems to be several on the go in this groupbuild so it may not get written up! MODeller

The P4 is soooooo pretty, especially now you've applied the red.

Oh go on, write up the GTO - you can never have too many of those beauties.

After a double disaster with the Fujimi Ford GT40 decals it was with some trepidation that I started putting these on. They go on very well and are totally opaque but do need some coaxing over the door panels and rear decking curves. I had to make a couple of cuts with a new scalpel blade and add a drop of Meths to drag them down but they have settled OK.

I have also made some progress with the chassis build, the aluminium is Revell Aqua 99 which has given a superb finish over a grey undercoat. No problems at all with the fit of parts, so far an easy build.

That's looking mighty fine... interesting to see how car builders get their finishes to shine smile.gif

Aye, please do. Am enjoying this build so far and by the looks of things the GTO will be getting but to a standard I'd aspire to aswell. I'd be interested in hearing about other GTO kits as it's a Revell one I'm doing.

Nice progress.

The only thing more gorgeous than a 330P4 Berlinetta is a 330P4 Spider - perhaps one day Fujimi will oblige.

Here is the finished chassis. No real problems once I realised the exhausts are numbered up wrong. The etched parts for the harness are supplied in the kit along with material to make the belts. Looks rather naked with no engine and there are no upper wishbones on the rear suspension but a cover will cover all of this.

The wheels have been resprayed as Fujimi supply 4 that are prepainted on the outside faces only and the spare in white plastic. I hope to have this one done and dusted tomorrow! MODeller

Ooh, it's in the nude!

Looking forward to the finished article.

I am calling this one finished, only other points to add are that I removed the rear window "tabs" and fitted from the outside after sanding, also left the luggage boxes loose whilst fitting the chassis. A highly recommended kit with little in the way of dramas. Now need to give her a polish and take the showroom pics! MODeller

Thats one mighty fine Ferrari you've built there, a quick question, as a matter of interest what are you going to polish it with?

I am going to use ProShine Spray and Shine a Carnauba based polish as per the "showroon shine" stuff advertised on QVC . I have tried a test piece and there were no reactions or other nasties. MODeller

Could you not use Klear? or wouldn't it come up as shiny?

You don't want it to glossy, will look out of scale
Obi-Jiff Kenobi
That looks great.
