This became an icon of Irish rallying in the hands of the great Frank Meagher. I'll be watching this one REAL close. Maybe have a later livery for it as a second entry.

This GB just got serious………Jerry’s joined in !!!!!! tongue.gif

I know this’ll be a great build because I’ve seen the other two that Jerry built. In fact I helped him retrieve the parts that were scattered over the hanger floor at the Heli Museum after he dropped one of them. Tears were shed I assure you. crying.gif
After he rebuilt it you’d never know that it had had such a serious off. A testament to Jerry’s modelling skills. bow.gif

Great to have you onboard Jerry………The gloves are off mate. boxing.gif

Good luck with the build you `ol racing snake.

Hi Jerry,

Just came across your thread, looks good so far! Interesting choice of scheme, are you going to use snow tyres on the Escy?

I've got into big trouble the last couple of years for throwing a box of gear into the car. 'Your not taking that are you?' 'Yeah'.

Anyhow I will be watching this build with interest as I have the same kit but with the Renaissance decals for Vatanan's '81 RAC car.

Nice work on the Marlboro car Jerry, really looking good!

And yes, I like all your Escorts - but there's a fair few more aftermarket sheets available for the MK2 if you want to do some more!

Looking forward to your progress with the build!

I think its the old MRM sheet (Rich will correct me if I'm wrong & someone else also does it!) which I also have stashed away somewhere. MRM now trade as Rallysport models (but see Shiloh's thread about how slow they are!)

Rallysport have 7 Mk2 Escort sheets listed on their decals page ;

https://sslrelay.com/www.rallysport-models....ndex.shopscript

Reji also do some;

http://www.mediamixhobby.com.sg/shop/reji0...tugal-1979.html

http://www.mediamixhobby.com.sg/shop/reji0...tugal-1979.html

http://www.mediamixhobby.com.sg/shop/reji0...nremo-1981.html

Studio 27 does a different Rothmans scheme from the one you've built;

http://www.mediamixhobby.com.sg/shop/st27d...polis-1979.html

and there's this Ragged Edge Designs sheet;

http://www.mediamixhobby.com.sg/shop/leg24...rally-1979.html

Those are just the ones showing as being in stock. I'm sure Studio 27 have done a lot more Mk2 sheets in the past! so there's a few there to keep us going!!

At last count i had approching 50 different schemes. Some 'works' and some privateer. Most of the works schemes were available at one time or another via most of the online retailers, I can put a list up if you want. Now all I need is the kits to put them on!!!
Rallychef
That's looking great Jerry, like that a lot.

That's the one Keef thumbsup.gif

I also used their (MRM) rhd dash in this one too. I don't know whether this is still available though? Inspired when I got a signed copy of Brookes' book at an Andrew's event!

Haven't seen the dash available since MRM stopped. But the one I've got is so rough it will probably be easier to scratchbuild one than clean it up!

Lovely line up mate, plenty more to go by the looks of it, keep 'em coming
