HalibutPronounce it: hal-ee-but
The largest flatfish in the ocean, halibut is a delicious white-fleshed fish with a firm, meaty texture. Halibut live in the freezing cold waters off Scotland, Norway, Iceland and Newfoundland and will devour almost any type of fish or crustacean they come across.
Availibility Available year-round but more widely available from March to September.
Choose halibut steaks cut from the middle of the fish rather than the tail which is full of bones. Buy from a reputable fishmonger who sources fish from sustainable stocks. Atlantic halibut is an endangered species, while halibut fished around Greenland is considered 'threatened'. Look for farmed or line-caught North Pacific halibut, that's been certified.
Prepare it Halibut has a tendency to dry out quickly when cooking so steaks and fillets should be cooked with wine or stock to retain moisture.
Cook it Baked, poached or pan fried.
Fisherman nets one heck of a halibut - record-breaker weighs in at 30 stone
A halibut big enough for Jehovah? Proud angler Soren Beck stands next to the enormous 8ft 1in Halibut he caught after a titanic struggle off the Norwegian coast.
Now thats going to take on hell of a frying pan!

Arh the age old question, when is a Pilchard a Pilchard? and when is it a Sardine??
QUOTE
Sardines, or pilchards, are a group of several types of small, oily fish related to herrings, family Clupeidae. Sardines were named after the Mediterranean island of Sardinia, where they were once in abundance.
The terms are not precise, and the usual meanings vary by region; for instance, to many people a sardine is a young European pilchard. A generalisation is that if the fish is under 4″ long (10 cm) it is classed as a sardine, and if larger than 4″ it is classed as a pilchard. The FAO/WHO Codex standard for canned sardines cites 21 species that may be classed as sardines; FishBase, a comprehensive database of information about fish, lists at least six species called just “pilchard,” over a dozen called just “sardine,” and many more with the two basic names qualified by various adjectives.
As a food, sardines are very rich in minerals. They can be consumed in a variety of ways (e.g., grilled, pickled, smoked) though canned sardines are very popular worldwide.

Used to love these when I was a kid (well the ones in tomato sauce anyway)

The Froglets came to the Clangers' planet in a top-hat which must once have belonged to a conjurer or a magician because the froglets can hop in and out of this top-hat and vanish and appear more or less anywhere on the planet. They can also make other things disappear and appear and do all manner of tricks. Nowadays the froglets live in a lake of pink soup in a cave at the middle of the planet.

Froglets is the name of a white weatherboarded cottage high on the Greensand Ridge near Toys Hill in Kent. It is surrounded by woodland still showing the scars of the greatest storm ever to hit the south-east. This unlikely setting is also the headquarters of Froglets Publications which made a massive and almost legendary impact on the book business through its enormously successful title In The Wake of The Hurricane which was written by Bob Ogley and published by him and his partner Fern Flynn after being rejected by Hodder and Stoughton.

Trumpets;QUOTE
The trumpet is a musical instrument with the highest register in the brass family.[1] Trumpets are among the oldest musical instruments,[2] dating back to at least 1500 BC. They are constructed of brass tubing bent twice into an oblong shape, and are played by blowing air through closed lips, producing a "buzzing" sound which starts a standing wave vibration in the air column inside the trumpet.
There are several types of trumpet; the most common is a transposing instrument pitched in B♭. The predecessors to trumpets did not have valves; however, modern trumpets have either three piston valves or three rotary valves, each of which increases the length of tubing when engaged, thereby lowering the pitch.
The trumpet is used in many forms of music, including classical music and jazz.
not to be confused with strumpets;

or crumpets
