Might as well have a Tornado fest !
Not the most photogenic aircraft but has a certain presence when fully laden and curving deliberately through the valleys. Or that giant fin looming up off the sea , from behind the golf course at Lossie on an airfield attack.
Must do some Buccs!
BTW The paintings below are acrylics on canvas or canvas board approx 30" x 22 "or so

Is the second one meant to be Cad Pass? It looks very much like it, as viewed from the western side.
Very nice, yet again.

Thanks - yes - the lower one is 31 Sqdn through Cad West. You might just make out a couple of guys on Cad East as well.
Top one is 12 Sqdn through Drumochter Pass
- both paintings based on aircraft I've shot in these locations but not necessarily in those conditions or placement.

both exellent ,but the lower painting wins it for me

especially like the sheen off the canopies ,difficult to make it look convincing but you have cracked it

like the little details in the background, always nice to roam around a painting discovering new things after looking at the main image

nice work fella

Heh , heh ! Have to agree with Buccy there - a shoebox with wings or a banana bomber , which is the most visually appealing ? Only one way to find out !!!!

Neil,

I just saw this and thought YUMMY!!!

The TORNADOS are painted with such great flair.... the two guys on the top to the right makes you wonder " That could be ME watching them as they shoot past"...

The sun catches the mood precisely and the meandering river below, fuses with the TORNADO as it also meaders thru the Valleys....

The stillness of the Valleys shattered , the air filled with excitement and gutsy flying..

The top picture , the Pilot is just getting in to the swing of things as the sun creeps out over the sundrenched hills, and the second shows that
he ahs mastered the arat of Flying low and swift thru the Valleys..
STUNNING..SUPERB as ever... !!!

Very nice paintings Neil, in fact excellent.
May I just make 2 comments please.
1/ 1st painting 'proportion/alignment'
The Stbd outer item looks to 'toe in' compared to the drop tank?
Fore and aft of all stores would be parallel to each other despite the viewed angle.
2/ 2nd painting port intake 'appears' shorter than the stbd one.

Thanks Adrian - you could well be right - or they might just be optical illusions - both paintings are taken from photos I shot at the locations and I tried to keep the lines true to the original . Without being able to compare the paintings to the originals I recognise what you are saying but don't know for sure if they are out .
I'm pretty sure the stbd Boz on the 12 Sqdn is correct - I distinctly recall lining up that notch at the back of the pylon and locating the tip of the carrier.
The 31 Sqdn stbd intake does look longer now you mention it but if you blow it up and run a straight edge over the port and stbd lines they match - it could be a result of an out of focus shot of my own which I used as the source.
Checked and found that the port intake top is slightly short - should extend slightly more at the tailend. I blame the p--s awful photographer!

Checked the stbd Boz carrier on the 12 Sqdn a/c and found it lines up correctly with the original photo . i.e. it is parallel to the other stores even if it doesn't look that way.
Will post a photo if time permits.

I think this is the original photo.
