Well hopefully Tomorrow I'll be picking up another Mk5 Chieftain
So round 2 ,I managed to salvage the rear tool box and some other bits off the shattered Chieftain
this one I'm not going to bither with the still Brew Armour ,Its too much bother
So this will be a Mark 5 With a few moddies on her

Well out I went today and picked up another Chieftain
So started doing a bit of a salvage jobby ... Luckly the lower hull was ok so all the wheels suspension bits were ok
I decided to use the new upper hull but modified the engine covers
The Turret I'm going with a MK5 But will be covering the NBC Unit with a tool box
piccies coming later on

Ok
Well got some done yesterday
But before that heres where I was at with the now departed Chieftain ..
At the war and peace show I managed to get a look at an accurate armour version and mine was well out
all that needed doing on this one was basic tidying up and wheels painting

Well RIP
So heres the new one
First I redid the engine covers I used wire this time round

Next is the wheels painted

And the turret all done ready for paint ...I added tammy tape for the thermal sleeve

Ok Then
I airbrushed it this time .... the side panels are off the old kit
As the new ones need painting
so heres the progress so far

Well just a little progress
Today I scratch built the side Radio pod ... luckily for me I had a spare side tool box ( You can see the tool box next to the radio)
The measurement of the Tool box was 2 cms ..where as the radio need to be 1 cm
so i chopped out 1 cm , Covered it in plastic card
The hieght of the radio was ment to be just under 1cm so that was filed down
I then scribed in some detail ( You can't see much at the moment)

Then I just painted the top of the tool box Brown and Grey blue

Looks good in the pics as well Sean!
As a pongo

you sould know that the paint is never perfect on the real thing, your paint is probubly too good if anything.

My mate who was in the royal engineers said that my models never looked as if they had been within a mile of a squaddy, as it still had all the tools, lights, guns etc still on them.
What is in the dish in the background, have you let your rabbit loose on your desk?
your Chief is looking great.

Dont worry about the Inner wheels being green ..I'm doing those and the tracks last thing
